To me, Metallica is the first Metal band that many people get into. Once you get tired of their first four albums, people will switch to other bands like Megadeth or Pantera. Metallica is very basic.
Damn. It appears that he doesn't really know how many people, like me, like Megadeth's music better than Metallica's. For Chrissake Dave, find a way to get over it! And keep rockin'.

I like early Metallica, but Megadeth has always been the better of the two bands for me personally. They have made much better albums in the past 10-15 years IMHO. Both are legendary bands overall.

I love both bands with my whole heart, and therefore I wouldn't want any of them to split up (being Megadeth in this case), even though I know he doesn't see it this way anymore. Megadeth has by far the better fanbase, and Mustaine has no reason to be jealous of Kirk as Mustaine surpasses him in every possible way playing guitar. I would much rather be in Megadeth than Metallica, they can make Risk and get away with it, Metallica can't make Magnetic without being hated.

This was a very emotional album (St. Anger) it's a shame so many called it shit and misunderstood it's meaning. Dave and Lars are both as bad as each other. I have loved Metallica for 7 years, and hated megadeaths music but Dave isn't afraid to speak about the past and the truth and i highly respect that.

Sounds more like Dave lost the only friends he's ever had and that's what the real issue stems from. Their success created a huge sense of abandonment so no matter how much success he had, it clearly felt empty. You're in a band with members you hire not your best friends who you shared a dream with.
But look at today's bands, most are running as businesses with everyone being hired in. You just don't see people dreaming like you used to. They all set out with a pandering agenda.

This was a very emotional album (St. Anger) it's a shame so many called it shit and misunderstood it's meaning. Dave and Lars are both as bad as each other. I have loved Metallica for 7 years, and hated megadeaths music but Dave isn't afraid to speak about the past and the truth and i highly respect that.

I respect both bands. I can't blame Mustaine for hating Hammet. His job was taken from him and he lost his chance. Poor guy. I ave a new found respect for him after admitting that he still loves Metallica. That must have been fucking hard, and Megadeth is a damn good band. They are both very different sounding, even if they afre both thrash metal, or heavy metal, or whatever you want to call it. Good job Dave.

Sounds more like Dave lost the only friends he's ever had and that's what the real issue stems from. Their success created a huge sense of abandonment so no matter how much success he had, it clearly felt empty. You're in a band with members you hire not your best friends who you shared a dream with.
But look at today's bands, most are running as businesses with everyone being hired in. You just don't see people dreaming like you used to. They all set out with a pandering agenda.

Dave must be feeling an horrible pain. But back 20 years ago he did shit things, he even bullied the Metallica bassist, he dropped beer on his bass and he got an electric shock. I believe that he regrets all that now. And now it's impossible to go back and put Dave on the band, cuz he already has a huge career with his own band, but they should be friends, both bands.
