When you said about filling the void where the spirit was cast out? well I had a word from the Lord about that too the other day, we must have that Holy Spirit filling us always and also when something unwanted is taken away.

Generational curses are real. I was having a really tough time at one point many years ago...depression and other things. I was trying to figure out what was wrong and then I heard within my soul "generational curses". I believe it was God letting me know what was causing it.
@texasauthor1 Just wanted to add, when I heard God tell me it was generational curses, it was before I was saved. I believe the actual curse is broken once we're saved since Jesus and His blood breaks all curses, but it seems if we engage in the sin associated with the curse prior to salvation, the demons still have access in our lives after we're saved, until we repent fully of the sin and of course not continue to engage in it. That's just my belief as I've learned more...God bless!
@conqueringthruchrist - You know what, I think you may be on to something there. That makes total sense - since we're reborn into our new family in Christ at the time we receive Him. Thanks for sharing that!

@Wivanunu - the scripture that indicates gen curses is Ex 20:4-6: where it talks about bowing down to other gods and says for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me...which would be 3-4 generations. Some ministers do believe that genetic diseases are actually curses and I definitely think there may be a link there.
The Church I go to has a session for this ( breaking generational curses and stronghold and binding the demons that come with them). It works!

well scripture also tells us that he brings the sins of the fathers unto the third and fourth generations...

How many generations can a curse last? Forever until someone casts it out?
Do you think family genetic diseases are curses? Cancers that run in families, autoimmune diseases, mental illness, etc..?
