Okay so this girl in my gym was training a double front and she tried to do and Ivana Hong and tightly tuck it. But she hit her lip and had nose and had to get 7 stiches.... So that is why you cowboy it...

@NedSCUBAyah Your right no one can beat her execution but I am telling those people who asked why so many epople cowboyed it why you do that. But I wouldn't say Ivana did hers the most effortlessly than Elena Prudunova. Elena is a beast.

0:58 is almost piked! Jessica Gil Ortiz was training one piked. But Produnova is definately the queen! Ivana's is the best though. And the 1/2 into the double front on floor is awesome!

Why is it so hard for them to keep their knees together on double tucks? They'd never do that on double pikes!

I love that vault. How many girls do it?

@Elemarth you keep your knees apart so you don't smash your face on your knees (many a nose has broken that way). It's much harder to hit your nose on your knees in a piked position (plus somehow a straddle double doesn't seem very aerodynamic)

@theblinddonkey Oh, that's why it's allowed. I've wondered for so long. Thanks! But some girls do it with their knees together, and it looks so much better. A straddle double would look kind of cool, but I bet it would be really hard.

@Elemarth A lot of people do it with their legs apart because you rotate faster than with your knees together. And I thought you got a deduction for knees apart. But yeah, it's to rotate faster, because someone like Nastia Liukin would not have been able to do it with her knees together.

@Elemarth Only Produnova (the girl in the video) has performed it successfully in competition. The only other girl that I know of who had attempted it was Choe Jong Sil at the 1980 Olympics.

I'm sad to say I have only heard of her but never knew what skills she did and never saw any routines

I haven't seen very many videos of routines from her because she quit when she was quite young. Most of my knowledge of her skills comes from watching the Parkettes documentary.
