after reading a few comments and people are saying vr6s are unreliable, ive had about 6 now and none of them have ever had any major problems, usual problems are rusty arches/sills/rear hatch,abs light comes on(usually sensors),coilpacks crack and play up,wheel bearings and ht leads, all just general stuff really.the vr i have at the moment is charged (v1) and thats had no problems, they are the most reliable engine ive ever had! the sound becomes addictive though.

@dan58073 I'v had a golf MK3 VR6... I loved the car, Loved the sound. Bur it was NOT reliable. It's well known that the VR6 engine is not that reliable. The Golf MK3 en Jetta MK3 also have problems with rust. But how care's, the car can give you ton's of pleasure!!!

@MrBino1983after 13 years and 133,000 miles engine runs incredibly, the engine did not have any problem,only thing who i change on this engine was the spark plugs,thats all,......engine is smooth and does not consume any oil .... how many new cars can boast anything like. I have an Audi A3 2.0 tsi 2008 and I can say I'm not happy with it .... I think that cars were once made more lasting than those produced today....so,is reliable 4 me.

the pug is a 206 gt a limited run of them were made it has wrc style bumpers and the 206 gti/s16 (140bhp) engine that as stock isn't great but the vr6 isn't that quick cause when compared to a car of the same age say a 97 306 gti6 it's slow as fudge.

If this is 206 RC, it has about 180HP, so the fact it's 2.0 litre means nothing...

The point is, the VR6 has 50% more cylinders and 40-45% more displacement, and it seems some people forget all about that when it comes to comparing them!

The fact that it's a 2.0 doesn't mean nothing, it just requires a higher rpm to create the same power.

The VR6 block is low power for it's size/weight, and that's never a good thing.

I owned PUGS, Opel, VW, and AUDI, and to be honest the pugs made more kilometers with a lot less repairing costs than the others. quality from inside is better in the Audi, but in term of reliability, my Peugeot were better than my A4. I owned 306 (very good),205 (immortal engine 500000kms and not Diesel) and an incredible 505 Turbo Diesel ( 800000 kms and not a single piece in the engine broken). My actual A4 has only 90000 kms and I changed already boardcomputer, and drinks 1L oil/2000kms.

Fun fact thats to read is that here in Sweden VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda got the lowest grades and the last places when a Car magazine and organisation called "Motormännen" made their yearly poll over the most dissatisfied customers amongst the Car companies. They had those positions for over 5 years in a straight, so dont come and talk about shit quailty amongst french car makers. Ive owned mine 3 years and its so "Crap"(as you put it)its 11y/o and has not a single patch of rust anywhere and its still on the original clutch it left Germany with and its done 107,000 Miles

My mate has a BRAND NEW 206GTI 180 within 9 months it needed a new engine and half the interior had dismantled itself!

VR6 drivers may not be able to handle the so called "POWER" that peugeots have, but at least the engines can handle the power they produce!

first of all they didn't even use the clutch on acceleration.. they just accelerated like that.. and they didn't wait the right amount of timing on the rpm to change gears i just bought the 206 rc one month ago removed it's motor and placed the Wrc motor on it 300 horsepowers on a small fibreglass body just imagine what it would do i'll show you soon enough when i have free time from work how i would accelerate
