i remember when i was a kid i saw the toy commercials, and wondered if there was an actual show or if it was just the video that came with the toy. the CG blew my little mind!
Look if you need a volunteer in anyway, Mr. Goddard, you tell me and I am there!
My name is Jonathan and when I was a teen this was the greatest show on TV! If you need volunteer Linux/Oracle/Solaris/CGI work, you just let me know and I will help out in anyway possible... even donate t the project!
Your creation, was my impetus to study science in college... you partially made me what I am today!
What if they scan the original FILM version on HD just for preservation from decay and time, despite there is no post-production FX and CGI added? We don't know, maybe in the future it wouldn't be so expensive to re-make the effects and get a blu-ray edition. IN THE WHILE they could preserve the film footage on HD.
A good idea for a future Captain Power related movie is a prequel focusing on Jennifer "Pilot" Chase's betraying the "Bio Dread Youth" and becoming a resistance fighter.
The story would focus on Pilot's days serving in the "Bio Dread Youth", the Sand Town incident where then Youth Leader Jennifer Chase and Overunit Wilson destroy it, her desertion from the "Bio Dread Youth", and finally, joining the "Soldiers of the Future".
With Captain Power being an excellent political and historical allegory showing parellelisms between Machineism and Nazi Fascism, and the Bio Dread Empire using some elements from Turkey's Ottoman Empire as their human "Bio-Dread Youth" and Overunits show similarities to the Janissaries, it could definitely compete with George Orwell's "Animal Farm" if the show is marketed right.
If they plan a Captain Power Season 2, I'm wondering if it'll be in computer animation form or a combination of computer generated images and live characters like Season One?
In addition, who will play the role of Captain Power and which original characters will be in it to Season 2?
@Carnage6X The said they found the master TAPES, not the original film. Shows from this era were often shot on film, but all post production work was done no broadcast video. Captain Power is no exception to this. To put it on Blu-ray would require tracking down the original untouched film elements and reconstructing all of the post production effects from scratch in HD. Sadly, not likely to happen for a niche show like this. The cost simply wouldn't be justified.
Man, I'm 33 and this gave me MAJOR flashbacks!

This has been flagged as spam show
If they did remake Captain Power, Tim Dunigan sould be cast as Stuart Power/Mentor. It would be the perfect tribute to the original show.

They said they found the original film. Does that mean a Blu-Ray release is coming? I'm buying this for sure it looks great,
Only one thing...you shouldn't have put the biggest spoiler of the whole series in this video. :)
