I hate that I'm not old enough to have experienced Bill Veeck. I read "Veeck as in Wreck," a few months back and had it finished in 3 days. I know he has passed away, but he's my hero and role model
I wonder if anyone has that great PBS Opening Day documentary where cameraman follows Veeck from his front door in the morning to the bleachers at Wrigley. Just great! I wonder if it's on DVD?
is his son Greg Veeck with him at all? Does he talk about him, like I said his son is a professor here at Western Michigan. Let me know if you found the DVD I would love to give it to him for Christmass.
Growing up in St. Louis, Bill Veeck is my entrepreurial hero(the same town he sent the miget to the plate)! I yearn for the day that I can be as creative as he was!
I have to feel bad for Bill Veeck after Disco Demolition Night.

Greg Veeck is a dear friend of mine and just as intelligent, articulate and charming as his father.

Going to games at old Comiskey in the late 70s was the best, even if the Sox were not all that good. Thank you Mr. Veeck.

Actually, just for the sake of accuracy, that is not a clip of Ralph Garr wearing shorts, that player is actually Pat Kelly.
