Whats the VGA card you use, I m looking for a VGA card to play fsx on ultra high graphics.

Right now I have a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4830 512MB and its hopeless.

I using here gts250 1gb , I think for play fsx on ultra high you need vga 1gb+ and also a processor dual core 3.0ghz + , you dont need triple or quad core

try overclock your processor to 3ghz or more ^^ you will see a big difference in fps

the memory of the card almost doesn't matter. It also depends on your computer. I would recommend a computer with quad core on at least 2,6 Ghz, then 4 GB RAM and ATI radeon 5870 or better. If you want Nvidia than GTX285.

These components will make the FSX beautiful

i think quad core doesn´t work in fsx , 1 week ago i tested my processor on fsx , and i only see 2 core in process in total stress 100% , another core was in 2% only , i have here phenom II x3 720 oc 3.3ghz , yes vga doesn´t help much , fsx needs more processor than vga , correct me if I'm wrong

True..I have one of those recorders on my desktop...when playing fsx I see that core one is being used to 100% but the other three cores are like 20 or 30%....I tested it on more recent games...modern warfare 2 and Dirt 2...in these games all the cores are being used properly...?????

Yes, because DIRT2 and others, is a development that support triple and quad cores, FSX is an old platform that only supports dual core processors, NVDIA have a program called nHancer, it has an option to allow multiple cores in FSX but I don´t know if it works

FSX can use any numbers of cores. Firstly you have to download service pack 1 and 2 and if it doesn't work afterwards, you have to do:

1. run flight simulator

2. run task manager

3. find fsx.exe in the tasks, not applications.

and then right click on the task and there will be something like set the processors, or properties and you choose all the processors in there.

Thanks for the info...I already have a core to quad 2.66 and 4GB of RAM, a good Asus mother board, a HDD with 7600RPM and a Asus 550W power supply....the vga card was the problem...last week I brought a good VGA card a Asus EAH 4890 1GB looks really nice it has two fans and very powerful....this was the best card I found in Sri Lanka.....computer shops here do not bring good VGA cards because no one buys them and once it comes here the price doubles... :-)
