You may say it's bad, but this is actually not bad for a dubbed 80's anime. There are much worse offenders out there.

I remember seeing that little "PDQ" character in the original Ultraman live action tv show.  I vaguely remember (it's been 30 years) but in one episode it got crushed by a giant monster it was distracting away from one of the science patrol members the monster was after.

@ACLTony Re-Dorako killed Pigmon and Hayata slapped and yelled at the crybaby of a SP member for letting Pigmon die, the first time Pigmon decided to distract Red King, you can guess how that went, Dorako and Pigmon were revived by Geronimon, the corniest but one of the deadliest monster.

@Wunderwaffen1946 -Thanks for that info. Good to see another classic Ultraman series fan here. It's neat that the actor who played Hayata made a brief appearance in one of the modern Ultraman series. I forgot which one. I don't think it was Nexus.

@ACLTony Ultramen Max and Mebius. In Max he was the general while in Mebius he was Hayata.

@Wunderwaffen1946 -Thanks again! I'll look for the Mebius and Max series. I enjoyed Nexus but was surprised at how it was more dramatic, especially in scenes where people were actually devoured by monsters.
