Always thought Vulture Culture was APP's weakest album. It lacks the orchestral sound of previous works and just comes off as third-rate 80s pop for the most part. This song sounds like a pale carbon copy of Eye In The Sky.
@jhillst When you grow up you will find it has much meaning and is an awesome album. I too thought it was weak but now know it has much more appeal than I gave it credit originally. Sooner or Later you will will see]
Even though this album doesn't compare well to I Robot or Tales of Mystery and Imagination, it's still at least an order of magnitude better than the supposedly "brilliant" and "wonderful" mass-produced schlock we see today. TAPP is probably the most underappreciated group of the 70s.
The kids thinks "Rave" music is new. What they don't know is we've been listening to it since the 70's. Thank you Alan Parson for bring that music to us.

This song just dashed into my life so deep a long long time ago. Still i enjoy to hear it time after time and all the words stil have a remarkable meaning as though as if it was recent. Eric´s voice was amazing in all the tunes he performed. This one was one of the I had the pleasure to hear...and I still do. It´s so sorry that we no lon longer have incredible voices like Eric Woolfson and Leslie Duncan.
I must admit this gave me the initiative to hack into an old account. Now all I have to do is wait. It's not malicious, mind you, it's one that I've known about for many a year. Maybe I'll get answers to questions Long overdue. Love your uploads. :o )
I discovered APP when I Robot came out. So, understandably, this album was a major disappointment when compared to the earlier albums. It was years later when I bought this on CD (next to last one I picked up...last was Eve) and gave it another listen that I really came to appreciate this song. It is as good as almost anything they ever did. The rest of the album is still not up to par, but glad I gave it another try and found this gem.

This was my first ALAN PARSONS PROJECT album way back when i was still in school which i bought earning money doing very hard labour...and I still have it! The memories that goes with it....miss those days!
I just found out about Erics passing.I dont know what to say. This man was a genius and the amount of pleasure i derived from his talent was endless.May God love you Eric.....your heart had to be in the right place for him to see so.
I have loved this song since it first came out, especially the tasty guitar solo from Ian Bairnson, perhaps the most under-rated guitarist of all time.
My brother got this CD for his birthday in 1984...I remember that day so well. My dad has a picture of my then 10-year-old brother proudly holding the CD in front of him. Wish I could go back in time...
Alan Parsons said this was his second attempt to get an "Eye in the Sky" style hit with a chugging guitar line; "Prime Time" was the first, which was a bit more successful in that respect. That is why this has an "Eye"-feel to it with Eric Woolfson's lead vocal and the chugging guitar line; the main differences being the Wurlitzer Electric Piano takes a lesser role in this one, and the song being in a upbeat-major key rather than the minor one "Eye" and "Prime" were written as.
Thanks for uploading this great song!

Cool song. But yeah, definitely an "Eye in the Sky Pt. II" feel to it. Maybe with a tiny touch of ELO.
