@arcanebop St. Anger was different but not in a good way. I now alot of bands who have changed or just for one album altered their style were it came out good but St. Anger just flat out pissed me off. I actually saw them in Florida in 2003 for the Summer Sanitarium tour and they played song from Anger everyone got pissed. Which is why they dont do songs from it anymore live. Death Magnetic was medicore to me. It was better then Anger but nothing special.

Black Album is one of the most overrated piece of shit albums in the history of music. Any one of the songs on that CD could have been written by just about any other 90s hard rock band; but could you imagine Master of Puppets being written by any other 80s band?

Slayer did some less than amazing stuff in the 90s as well, but even then, 90s Slayer was miles ahead of 90s Metallica. (And then came ST Anger... lol)
