Well presented argument. Thanks. Would like to hear more on sustainable inclusion of hunting, fishing, gathering; i.e., eating meat that is NOT raised for food, but is found on our tables anyway. The idea of a "no harm" diet is wonderful. Also, you may want to add and/or look at labor practices (i.e., slavery in other countries and our own dismal agricultural labor practices) in terms of NOT HARMING. Well done Dr. Foster. Keep up the discussion!
plants are alive like animals so eating plants could be ethically just be as bad as eating animals. animals are just large multi-cellular organisms like plants so any pain which they feel is just a bunch of electrical activity and hormones released. if you think too hard about this then you're waisting time. animals give you more energy when you eat them so if we didnt, we'd be waisting a huge amount of space on intensively farmed crops, which could damage the world even more
@lukedoherty9494 you are wrong! plants to feed animals take much more resource than to eat plants right away! if you want to justify killing animals which are as sensible as humans than dont lie on facts!
@WR84653- that argument is literally called "the naive argument". Animals also kill and eat humans, does that mean that it is okay to kill and eat humans? And is that the reason why you think it's okay to kill and eat animals? Cows don't kill and eat other animals, so should we assume they aren't doing so for ethical reasons? And since they don't, does that mean that cows shouldn't be eaten?
I love meat and nobody can make me not eat it. first 3 minutes of the video I saw on his slide show that it is wrong to kill animals because it brings harm to the animal. I realized this is horse crap because other animals kill other animals to eat and live. tell those animals that there are other alternatives of sources to be able to live. Im sure they could live off of vegtables too.
So frustrating.... this guy thinks Vegetarians are not killing animals? It doesn't take a huge brain to figure out why veganism is the only choice for animal rights advocate...Vegans don't just say we love animals we live it...
Become vegan and then you will sound a lot smarter...
I really appreciate you sharing this video. It was very informative and made a good argument. I hope other LDS members recognize the value of this topic.

@rainbear1 the very fact IS that animals are morally miles above humans. to murder one is to murder a child, they are not dissimilar

Nature is red in tooth and claw. The harm done to animals in the wild by other animals is far greater than what they suffer in captivity.

@edwardkarl Apply that to humans and you've got a pro-slavery argument.
