Nice post, Tom1980. Were those Rogers Digital organ/consoles on the right side of the screen? Whatever they were, it looks like they got blown away by the Wanamaker Organ around 1:40, when the main organist at the real Wanamaker organ console (left side of the screen) pulled on a stentor division of trumpets or somethin. Nothing like real wind running through organ pipes. Nice.
It was at one of the Wanamaker Organ days a few years ago. Yes they used the Allen's along with the Wanamaker Organ for many pieces. I also have a clip with all of them being used for the ET movie theme. Check it out!! ;-) @FirstMrTornado
@jupitermoon10011 It was not in a "minor" key per say. It was re-harmonized. I think its simply adds to the melody (which is left unchanged) Just my thoughts.
the basic melody is still there, but the extra key is added to add resonance - that gives it a particularly 'pipe-organ' sound -- nothing else like it
Alot of organists will perform in C or Db so that you end low in the pedal (to obviously get the most out of the 16 and 32 ft pedal stops). In Bb you would end way to high in the pedal...makes sense???

Wow - what are those smaller consoles doing in front of the pipes at the end of the video? Was this piece played with 3 organs?

I REALLY dislike our national anthem being played in a MINOR KEY like that...absolutely awful and in a way, disrespectful.

@jupitermoon10011 It's not in a minor key. Even if it were, that doesn't make it disrespectful either.

Why are they playing this in the key of C? I have always found this melody to be sung the most "comfortably" in the key of Bb.

I find that Ab is even easier for congregations. That's how it's written in the Baptist hymnal.
