They're both great,small devices. It actually depends on what you want: is it for everyday tasks - comfortability in having everything that you need like music player, writing SMSs, making calls, playing games, taking photos etc. or for media, like watching movies, playing games, looking at photos, going on the internet (depending on where you are) and fun stuff. I, personally, have an iPhone and I love it. It's one great device which has everything that I need and more.

The 3G and 2G iPod touch 8GB has NO DIFFERENCE Its the 32 and 64 GB that had processor upgrades, Either way if you have a 8GB or 16GB since that one was discontinuted after the 2Gs Its going to be 2G hardware even if the software is 3.0

If its 8gb it means its a 2g because the new 8gb is just updated the firmware. If it's 32gb it should have voice control for 3g, 2g has no voice control.

Yea, I looked at an iPhone 3G vid, the gaming SUCKED. It was really choppy and laggy, but since the Ipod Touch came after, they probably improved it to the 3gs standards.

A game with more things to load like better graphics. on the 3GS it can be up to 10 seconds faster also the 3GS has a bigger framerate for smoother gameplay and also has more colours and a better graphics card for better graphics.

Correct me if I'm wrong. iPhone 3GS is just a cover up for not releasing the iphone 4G sooner. The 3GS is just a iPhone 3G with a few added features. It was just a way to make profit and make it look like something new came out. It's the same size so nothing really different. I understand you guys don't think it is but i believe it is. It hypes you up and then you buy it and now in a few months the iPhone 4G is going to come out and they're going to make another few million dollars.

It's only a few features to me. It's like a boosted version of iphone that's why it's called iphone 3G S. It's like sticking more stuffing into a chicken. Faster, ok, it's got more Ram, fantastic, it's got better camera, cool, it's got a compass.....that's stupid but ok... now imagine that with (Russel Peter). If you think you didn't waste your money on a $700 phone with a few boosted features then ok. But i'd rather just get a nokia N97 and then use their app to get internet for my ipod touch.

3gs has double the ram that the 3g and ipod tuch 2g has, plus they throlttled the CPU and video gaphics. its "significantly" faster and for heavy users of the iphone, defenately noticable and an improvement from the 3g.

Seriously the only thing that I can see the iphone lacking is a solid keyboard. but in return you get so much more, way better aesthetics. oh ad not to mention, once you get used to the iphone's keyboard you can be so fast with it. hmm probly not, those processors would bee too much for any programs a mobile device would need.. unless apple decides to take on gaming even then the battery wouldnt cope too good specially with the current battery problems iphones are experiencing.. next years phone would probly have multitasking in mind then apple would go for the whole "faster" improvement thing.. probly a mini tablet by the time they hit 1Ghz

the cpu is very similar, the 3GS is faster mainly because it has a new/better graphics chip ;) every other model iphone+ipod has the same build CPU with slightly varying clock speeds which are pretty much irrelevant in real world use (besides of coarse the 3GS with a better chip set as i said so improved speeds are noticeable but for me anyway not worth paying out the remainder of a 3g contract. il save the upgrade till' next year for a proper upgrade)
