  • I love his work especially with Scofield, but this was bullshit :)

  • you messed up at 1:22 lol

  • I don't know much about this drummer,but...this solo was just...boring..

  • i went to one of dennis' clinics in 07 and at the end they raffled of his signature series snare drum that he was playing that night. I ended up winning it so i got him to actually autograph it on the inside shell and outside aswell as the case that it came in (Protetchtor cases). I was just wondering if anyone would have a clue on what both the case and drum itself would be worth

  • @anzekopitar111

    Wait a while...

  • @TheMurty01 how much would you say it is worth at the moment?

  • @anzekopitar111

Sorry if I came off as an expert lol I'm definately not... however who knows, just keep it as a sentimental item for noveltys sake for a while, I'm sure it will be worth more posthumously, sorry to say that haha... besides you have a snare signed and played by him! keep it!

  • I'm at a Lan-Party atm and we are fraking laughing our asses of because of this genious ending xD

  • Thank you for teaching Tony Royster Jr.

  • Um, wow. I'm gonna have to show this to my buddy Mike DeBoer, who's an amazing drummer. I'd love to see him do this with his two feet. Yow!

  • Playing. With. A dbl. Bass

  • this man possesses someof the fastest hands in drummer history

  • how can a hundred people really not like this?

  • @taterdot They're smoking Kool-Aid and Crack mixed together. That's the only thing I can think of.

  • @taterdot

    he has 100 ex-wifes???

  • Love how he pimp slaps the crash from the underside like it did something to piss him off.

  • How is he using the hi-hat and double bass pedal?

  • @metzlermatt It looks like one part of his foot is on the hi-hat and other part is on the kick pedal

  • @metzlermatt he use two pedals at the same time

  • @lobert87 It's a kick technique

  • Now I've seen everything.

  • did he just hit two cymbals with one stroke???

  • @vanzXcyRus Nope, he hit three. Watch the x-hat. Hah!

  • he is one of the best

  • awesome

  • No one can play that well and look like they're doing nothing...

  • oh, also, i guarantee that he gave someone a black eye when he threw his sticks into the crowd. those things hurt.

  • wipin the sweat off his body with a towel and still using the bass and hi hat like it's nothin.

  • THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST

  • see great groove: /watch?v=sTMjT6YsyXk

  • The technique is called Pedal bridging. Where he's laying his left foot on 2 pedals at the same time. Hats and slave bass drum pedal. L RR LRR

  • man that is insanely good

  • Like a boss

  • Fuck you don't even need a solo with foot work like that

  • Sweet pants

  • He ran out of drums at the very end! I love it!

  • @DrowzeGarkenos He puts half his foot on one pedal and half on the other... I cant remember which video it is... But he explains it in one of his videos. Its a cool technique to mess with, because you not only can come up with cool shit, but it gets people wondering how youre doing it.

  • One foot half way on the slave pedal and hi hat pedal I think is what he's doing.

  • Best ostinato with the feet I have ever seen or heard

  • at 1:58 did he almost fall? lol

  • how is he double bassing and using the hi-hat at the same time isnt dat physicaly impossible.,,

  • @jeremy95ize He has this technique were he has half of his foot on the hi-hat and half on the double bass pedal.

  • show de bola..

  • I came here because Thomas Pridgen watched this guy's stuff........I'm in awe

  • 96 people clicked the wrong goddamn button... again

  • @planetxil EXACTLY!!!!

  • WOW..............superb.

  • boring. most of the time, he was wiping himself. :P speedy and technical, but boring. :/

  • Mr.Chambers is very underrated

  • @guacamolechief39 lolwut? He's like one of the most famous jazz/fusion drummers out there.

  • @SubwayStar7 I meant he doesn't get a lot of attention and stuff.

  • @guacamolechief39 I know what you meant. I was saying that he does get a lot of attention. :P

  • boring ...so much technics...so what

  • @fernandobuenofertes b/c it doesnt take skill 2 blast around a kit w/ speed. it takes actual skill 2 do what he does.

  • boring ...

  • Wow...I've never seen anybody play the bass drum with the dual-headed pedal as long and consistently like that before...hands-down this brother is amazing and one of the world's BEST!!!!!!!!

  • i laughed because that was GAY.

  • fuck, he is to speedy '-'

  • I thought his foot got tired when he slowed down

  • 92 people are a part of the rhythmless nation.

  • I liked it before the video even started.

  • @lakaiguy35 Yep...I know exactly what you mean! His foot-work was phenomenal on that bass drum!!

  • @R4Love365 I have been finding all these great drummers lately! Jazz artist and World Percussion artist are the best!

  • @lakaiguy35 Oh ok...that's cool man! Yeah those artists you mentioned are the best ones!!

  • Another dislike button joke, good job!

  • useless dislike buttons...? Youtube has them!

  • why does he used the dw 5000 pedal? why not the 9000

  • @omgme2894 this video is old, the 9000's did not exist yet. and now he uses pearls pedals anyway since they invented the eliminator and now the demon drive

  • If you cannot see his hands, thumbs up.

  • lol @ 1:58

  • How can he use the double bass and open/close the hi-hat at the same time?

  • @DrowzeGarkenos Some Pedal setups allow that. on my drumset with a simple Sonor 400 HH and an Iron Cobra makes that possible ;)

  • @DrowzeGarkenos i thought he used 1 foot for that fast

  • @panda100123 Yeah, that's what I think too.

But damn, I wish I had all that technique with my left foot.

  • @DrowzeGarkenos

He is placing his left foot on the hi-hat pedal as well as de double bass pedal. So he is playing the first note of the triplets on two pedals at the same time ;)

  • @DrowzeGarkenos Maybe pressing both peddals at the same time and filling with the right leg D:?

Anyways, it's impressive how he executes that :D

  • @DrowzeGarkenos he's got his left foot on both the the hi hat pedal and remote kick pedal at the same time, half and half. the pattern is LRR LRR LRR LRR counted as 16th note triplets. The craziness in this vid is the slow down, odd time retard shit that I have no clue what he's doing.

  • @liennto heel on the hi hat, toe on the remote kick, in unison.

  • @DrowzeGarkenos WTf??!?!?!??

  • @DrowzeGarkenos Double kick with one pedal, i suppose

  • @DrowzeGarkenos if you can put a foot on bot pedals hi hat and bass pedal you can rock it back and forth or use a stomping motion to use the hats w a dbl bass. Create your way of playing because any thing you can multi task will allow you to use alot of things at an easier conveniance

  • Comment removed

  • @DrowzeGarkenos my buddy puts his toe on the high hat, and his heal on the bass, it looks really uncomfortable. don't know how this guy does it.

  • @DrowzeGarkenos one foot accross the two pedals. they're beside each other...

  • @DrowzeGarkenos because hes dennis chambers

  • @DrowzeGarkenos what do you mean? the pedals are in a close position and he places his foot on both at the same time

  • @DrowzeGarkenos It sounds like the da-dum is from one pedal, and the hi-hat and second bass pedal is being pressed at the same time for a triplet on the bass :D

  • @DrowzeGarkenos It's simple actually. He's playing the upbeats of the triplet with his right foot and playing the down beats with his left foot. He has his left foot positioned to actually press down the slave pedal and the hi-hat pedal simultaneously. This is the pattern. LRRLRRLRRLRRLRRLRRLRRLRRL..........On each of those lefts, he's just playing the bass drum and hi-hat at the same time by positioning his foot so that it's on both pedals. I hope you understand.

  • @DrowzeGarkenos cuz hes dennis chambers biatch hahahaha!

  • @DrowzeGarkenos

one foots on the hi hat and slave bass...anothers on the regular... and the right foots doing double eighth note pattenens...so its HB BB HB BB HB BB HB BB

  • @DrowzeGarkenos the same way akiro jimbo uses left foot clave.

  • @DrowzeGarkenos Its called hitting pedals close to each other at the same time.

  • @DrowzeGarkenos its easy. :)

  • @DrowzeGarkenos

you can position the pedals so that theyre so close you can work both with one foot.

thats why hes doing 1 hit with his left foot and two with his right.

  • @DrowzeGarkenos He is only using one pedal. He has a double bass pedal, but the bar isn't connected. His other beater is just rebounding after each hit.

  • @DrowzeGarkenos I sat behind him once at a concert and noticed the same thing. he puts half his foot on his hi hat pedal and the other half on his slave pedal

  • @DrowzeGarkenos looks like he's operating both pedals with his left foot, leading with the left like LRRLRRLRR

  • I never thought a dude wiping off his sweat could be so cool...

  • 85 people are doing the fill at 0:06 two times faster with the help of vlc media player where their video is being fast forwarded 16 times the normal speed

  • Watching Dennis play fast, I feel my forearms tense up! One of my favourite drummers along with Simon Philips, Ronald Bruner jr., Lenny White.....

  • tom snare tom snare then he goes down the first 3 toms and then hits the crash

  • i dont understand what is happening at 0:06 . some one explain me pls

  • @202drummerboy oh he also crosses his hands when going from snare to tom at like 64 notes or something haha you gotta be fast

  • @202drummerboy I think we were all under mass hypnosis, and it didn't happen, because it's impossible.

  • @JoeSzilagy absolutely right ! it may not be understandable for our brains. )

  • @202drummerboy I could be wrong, but sometimes when I see drummers and guitarists (I'm a guitarist actually), play astoundingly fast in short bursts, I can't help but think that they tense up their muscles in a way so that they get a sort of a temporary spastic response which can't last more than 5 or 10 seconds. Just a theory. And when you combine that with great playing...... whoa!

  • @JoeSzilagy maybe you are right..but what can you say then about buddy rich? i guess your brains do work,so explain me his secrets. was he a bodybuilder? or what? you have nice theory, but Dennis is a world class drummer.i am not his fan ,any way,he has played on buddy richs memorial concert ect. so you dont know it could be only 10 or 100 seconds. i am a drummer . so i know what am i posting on comment.

  • @202drummerboy You mean Buddy's incredible speed for long periods of time, compared to the short bursts I was theorizing about? You make a good point. I was watching some of the Buddy Rich videos last night actually, and he was doing all kinds of mind-blowing stuff for extended periods of time. You would know why they can do these things better than me because I'm just starting to learn drums, so that's why I can only guess. Being a drummer, you are light years ahead of me, so I can only guess.

  • @202drummerboy He went crazy with some cross overs.

  • @sussexcounty i know dude,i wrote that just to express my amazement

  • @202drummerboy he just cloned himself a few times and the clones are invisible - thats all... not that difficult huh? :D

  • @TheODEProject nice theory btw

  • @202drummerboy what you experienced is what they call an orgasm.

  • @HardRocker181 damn man, what the stupid things are you talking !

  • @202drummerboy It's just a simple single stroke roll. It's just played extremely fast and crescendos to give it feel.

  • @202drummerboy i call it a bitch slap

  • @202drummerboy he hits it from the downside of the cymbal, sweet uh? check out solos!

  • @202drummerboy brotha was mad at the drum set...

  • @202drummerboy He unleashes pure rhythmic energy.

  • Great drumming, really bad outfit!

  • Comment removed

  • Non-drummers seriously have no idea how hard this is. This requires MASSIVE practice and patience and a lot of pain to the feet.

  • He takes his sweet ass time toweling off

  • i just cried

  • God drumming

  • MOTHER F***!!

  • I heard, that Dennis Chambers could play drums even first time he played on it.

Is that true ?? look like yes..

  • Que solo!!! E a virada na velocidade da luz logo no começo!!!

  • 0:06 wtf

  • he made this drum set his bitch

  • @space78511 With DISDAIN and total disregard for the set feelings!!!

  • how is he doing the hats and the slave at the same time?

  • isnt he endorsed by pearl? whats he doing with a dw pedal

  • @Jabarichonicles dw has a lot of endorsers that only use their pedals or hardware but not the drums

  • exacltly 1:48 LEVITATION

  • esse cara é fora de serio

  • lol at this guys ego

  • @feverfordrums Dennis is actually a very nice guy. He knows he's good but he's down to Earth at the same time lol.

  • 79 people don't like his hat.

  • how is he doing double bass and hi-hat

  • @bigdaddy16ish Heel is on the hi-hat pedal, its actually pretty easy, just needs practice.

  • @thisisformusiconly actually, it isn't. left foot's playing hihat normally, right foot playing doubles on the bass drum. simple as that.

  • @paucceri Thats what i thought at first, but when you look at his pedal you can see that both of the beaters are moving, therefore meaning that he is using both the pedals.

  • @thisisformusiconly you can see his left foot playing every third note, each one on the hihat. that means his right foot plays the other two notes. on the closeups of his right foot you can see his right foot clearly playing doubles. the other beater moving... im not sure where that comes from, maybe the motion of the bass head hitting it back slightly? in any case, it's too soft to be a deliberate hit.

  • @paucceri From the top view you can see that his foot is angled and during the shots with the pedals you can see both the chain and the connecting rod moving, also the foot board moving. Thank you for being kind about this. . . not many people on youtube argue like this. Plus check the top down view it shows it the best. The beater moves back alot and you can see his feet perfectly.

  • @thisisformusiconly yeah, ok now i got it. from that top down view you can see it... so his left foot's half on the hihat, half on the slave bass pedal?

  • @paucceri Yeap thats it. And the double pedal does create an illusion where the slave beater doesnt look like its moving, even if it is flying. And i was 90% sure that this was what he did because i say a video on how to do it, like an hour before watching this.

  • He should have sent less time wiping off his sweat and more time playing. This solo sucks

  • @Arisleo1 The whole solo wasn't filmed. Dennis does really long and complicated solo. And I'm assuming you can't play near as good as Dennis so don't hate

  • is his bass skin ripped or is just a reflection?

  • @purgatory47 he uses a double bass drum pedal

  • very good

  • good good

  • Look at him chewing his gum like a boss.

  • Whoa.....how is he doing 2 kick drums AND the hi-hatwith two feet??????

  • @ROCKSTARCRANE his left foot is on both pedals ))

  • @ROCKSTARCRANE cause hes god

  • @ROCKSTARCRANE there is two heads on foot pedal

  • Fantastic !

  • mean bro the best ever

  • fks around too much.

  • Fastest and cleanest single stroke drummer I have ever seen. Keep it up, Mr. Chambers...

  • Vai dennis sei grande

  • IN YOUR FFAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCEEE

  • multitasking at its greatest.

  • note to self; only bad-asses can wear pj's on stage and get standing O's

  • wow,thanks for the info.I never knew that.awesome.

  • That's a drummer.

  • How is he using 2 bass beaters with 1 foot. His left foot was on the hi hat. He's a monster.

  • @thewsca he's using his left foot to play the hi-hat and the beater at the same time. You put both pedals close to each other and put your foot in the middle and play them simultaneously.

  • @thewsca

He's hitting both hi-hat and bass with the left foot.

    LRRLRRLRRLRRLRR

  • saw this guy @santana javajazz festival, amazing solo!!

  • Whoever DISLIKED this is insane!!

  • Anyone can go fast big boy...its different when it sounds good.

  • he is a beast! but he needs to throw that shitty pearl kit out a window and pick up a dw kit. hell any kit would be better than pearl!
