i must say, this is THE best original piano composition on Youtube i've heard so far. i absolutely *love* the chord progression you've inputted here, very nice work. however, you should reduce the amount of sustain pedaling. it's messy in some areas, and your piano's sounds aren't rich to me. if you performed this on a warm grand piano, it'd sound so much better. gREAT JOB>

It does have a touch too much pedal.

I mean, I understand how some songs(especially the older folk ones) have almost no specific tune and are passed down by ear rather than paper, but it feels like it could have a little bit more direction.

your playin g of the notes shows you practice and have learned many songs, which you have mixed up together as your own and that shows too. Hip hop remixers are not song writers they are hackers of music. This is just my humble opinion, why spending days on end learning musical therory will qualsh your creative brain to find it's own way. But with yo credentials you will be more respected as an original composer more than a poor self taught musician , I improvised lessons with self compositions

What do you play after 2 'journeys' at home ?

Hehe...well...I was actually thinking of expanding this...into 3 movements. If I did, this would be called Journey Home movement I. The other two would be movement II and III, kind of like a sonata. Mvt. II would be an expansion of the 0:46-2:20 area. And Mvt. III would be an expansion of the ending. But I'm not sure if I'm going to do it, I think it might take away from this piece by doing more, but maybe it'll make it even better xD

Yeah Un Sospiro definitely inspired me aswell. As far as your composition.. well, what can I say? It's just a modified version of something I've heard already. Most of these people are easily impressed because they're so underexposed to piano music, but I know it's not too difficult to bust out something a bit more original, just think outside the box.. outside the natural scale.. and you can create something unforgettable. You obviously understand the theory, so put it in practice.

Hm...I didn't work on it everyday, but it first started when a friend of mine and I were first learning how to improv on piano. I accidentally played something that actually sounded decent, and tried to remember what I played. From there, it slowly became this piece. I worked on it randomly during a time of about a month ^^

Ah, it's good to see more of your piano! I'm far more impressed with the composition than the performance, truth be told. It might be weird to say this since you're performing your own composition, but your interpretation wasn't very... smooth. Also, I think it can be improved a lot by separating the voices more.

As far the the composition goes though, the whole piece works together really well. I'm looking forward to more from you in the future!
