The base worked out perfectly after I watched your insturction video. But now, after 6 layers, the thing still doesn't have the "body" form, but it's still very flat.

Should i have made an inverted layer after the base?

Saw it in another video, but it isn't mentioned in this one.

@MsHeidiMusic I think it is flat because you pushed the pieces in too far. I should've mentioned that in my video, too. when you're stacking them together, you should stop when you start to feel a little tension. I think that's also why the body won't form the shape. you can also force the body into that shape by gently squeezing the top opening together, it'll make the hole at the neck smaller. I don't know about an inverted layer after the base, but that sounds interesting.

First, your video tutorial is awesome.

Still, I've got a question. I'm trying to make the Hello Kitty now, but everytime I finish the first layer and I want to add the second one, the circle just falls apart.

What can i do? I'm using very normal paper. It's not very hard nor very thick.

And by the way, I had to use 29 pieces, or I couldn't close it correctly.

@MsHeidiMusic HI :) I must say that a lot of people have difficulties with the base and how to keep it together. I don't really know what to tell you but to keep trying. I don't know if you've seen my base video, but that might help you out. good luck :)

@MsHeidiMusic I found a good solution to this. make the first layer as much as you can. If it falls apart try and keep them in the order they were in. then put the next layer on too so layer 1 and 3 hold it together. I dont know how to describe this better, but i hope you know what i mean. Dan.

Cos you're probably NOT folding the pieces neatly,fold them with care next time you try.

You can try making units of 3 pieces instead of 2 so it doesnt fall apart

Glue was always an option

@lady4decadas watch my "How I make my pieces" video to find the measurements. If you want to make a bigger one then just increase the measurements of each piece, or you can use larger base of your choice. Bigger pieces requires more paper, bigger base requires more paper AND a lot more pieces to fold. Pieces can be any size you want, ultimately one piece just needs to be 3-4 times longer than it is wide. good luck :)
