And,because NZ isnt training for war,we are training to peace keep and reconstruct war torn countries.If ww3 broke out you would see the Troop quality raise.Since NZ isnt reallty commited to major conflicts our troops training shouldnt need to be of high standard like the U.s Marines or british regs

@WRH90059 Our Soldiers are highly trained and skilled easily on par with British regs and US Marines. They use just as good equipment aswell. Our soldiers still train for full out WAR. Unlike many Kiwis they don't live with their heads in the sand thinking everything will always be hokie dokie. They train for the worst. I know; my borther is a Reserve Combat Engineer and he trains in everything from riot control to fullscale fortified position assualts, firefights and demolitions.

Our training is no where near as good as the US marines,Buddy the marines are the best shock troops in the world i should know my cousin was a marine he fought in fallujah.

the hearts and minds policy was first created by the SAS but it works well in any environment. You don't need to always have your weapons at the ready because it makes you look hostile. therefore our NZDF is a PEACEKEEPING force

I thought you might like a more comprehensive answer to your question on wether NZ has a Marine Corps. Well no we don't. Our military was restructured into a single organisation called the New Zealand Defence Force which comprises of our 3 armed services. The Royal New Zealand Navy, Royal New Zealand Air Force and the New Zealand Army. All 3 are seperate services but operationally and strategically report to NZDF command. SF is the NZSAS which is part of the army but open to all NZDF personel:)
