  • 152 envidiosos :D

  • @baguel criticisms are what help you grow and in this case, where sungha's ability is undeniable, it is evident that he lacks the soulful connection to the listeners that andy mckee exudes from every one of his songs. doesn't make sungha a bad guy. tis another lesson to learn.

    @miyavizim stereotyping much?

  • he has no soul at all cause he's an asian, guitar playing is all about emotions and feelings, his emotionless face reflects he's just playing and not feeling the song.

  • @miyavizim are you kidding? what he must do then? turn his head 360 degrees? check his own compositions if you want emotions..or just close your eyes and listen to the song. Then you will fell emotions.

  • YES!!!

  • HE'S REALLY STRUGGLING WITH THIS ONE

  • This kid has his idols just like everybody.... Shure that mckee is one of shungha's idol, and because he has great and blessed ears he can make a really good cover of this song.

Stop criticize the kid, he his young and have a lot of time to get better and better.

  • sungha my son....

  • ,, nice kid ,,haha i can't believe it

  • Magnifique !! Je T'aime Sungha !

    Paris, France

  • ANDY MCKEE FTW. THIS IS A HORRIBLE COVER

  • dangggg he has hella many cds

  • incredible immitation of Andy. Especially someone so young. Keep at it. But remember to become an original.

  • 146 persons don't like Chinese people --'

  • @magifolie what do you mean? who's Chinese. Sungha is Korean....

  • @magifolie i thought he's korean

  • @37andrus i have to disagree with you because i didn't like this version it has no feel just alot of strumming which is very good but not enough feeling in the intro and bridges BWT good cover as compare to others :)

  • the way the finger moooves! totally awesome! :)))

  • iv been playing probably longer then hes been and hes honestly much better :P

  • 2:43 WEEEEEOOOOWWWWWWWWW

  • For me, an example of how NOT to play guitar.

I really can't make any note of this song, i know it, i'm not a good guitar player, but Andy McKee doesn't make his song for the fact of showing the way that he surprisingly plays the guitar!

Sungha plays awesome! but there are the problem... the music is not that... is not a competition of who plays better, who plays fast, who plays more notes in a chord... the music is about soul, about make a message, and this kid is just showing his abbilities.

  • @Feli74217 amen my bro... he is just amazing but there is no soul and music without soul is just nothing

  • @Feli74217 THANKS 4 saying that!

  • @Feli74217 you should really hear his compositions

  • @Feli74217 Awesome words, you're right. When I listen to Andy I can feel his feelings. That's what I like from his songs. I don't like the competition in the music's world, that's not the point. All that matters is the heart that the musician puts on his compositions. That's beautiful (:

  • @Feli74217 give the kid a break... why hate on the kid... take it for wat it is. He's playin someone else's music. He does something most ppl can't even immitate at twice his age.

  • @Feli74217 i agree with your meaning of music. however i feel as if maybe this kid is playing andy's song because he liked it and wanted to perform it by himself rather than just watching it. not everything is about competition, we all have our own reasons. i would love to play this song, not for competetion, but for the beauty of the music. it's absolutely amazing.

  • @Feli74217 Why do you think this KID isnt able to play with alot of feeling!? Why do you think this KID only got the ability to show his skills or abilities? maybe it is just because he is a fucking KID??!? He is REALLY young, when he gets to Andy's age, he will show just as much feeling if not more than Andy!!

  • @guitarxgaming64: I agree, it is too much to ask for a child to play with feelings they have not experienced yet. And how is he supposed to play sending a message if he doesn't know what the message is? This is not his own song, it's Andy's.

  • @SharonGuitar500 I beg to differ.

    /watch?v=y6MLX3YxQIo

Check out this person's cover, he plays it MAGNIFICENTLY. And he's the same age as Sungha Jung.

  • @Rapidfire55x: I'm familiar with him, I know he's great. But they were not the same age when they uploaded it. Sungmin is 15, Sungha had just turned 13 when he uploaded it. I'm sure he'd play it a lot better now.

  • @SharonGuitar500 Probably, but you made a generalization when you said that "it is too much to ask for a child to play with feelings that they have not experienced yet." Sungmin is 15 right now, which in many people's eyes would still be considered a child. Sometimes, people underestimate and don't understand what children at a young age go through these days.

  • No soul that's all .

  • @Louvet56 You are jealous that's all .

  • Where is the Drifting cover?

  • wow

  • they have tablature for these lovely compossed songs online Ive learned quite a bit, even after16 yrs of experience this is hard stuff!!! but its pretty newly invented,Im tripping alot of people out by playing these riffs

  • ho

  • i think u did a good job but u could have dun better i think this calls for a second try

  • To create and play a piece of music like this true you honestly have to have lived life and played in situations that make the music as meaningful as it is. I think he is good! just doesn't have that same feel

  • Comment removed

  • More soul, young man. By now, you've probably gotten much better and have learned and understanded what I've meant by that. Love and soul make a true man smile, not materialistic possesions (off subject) lol

  • 141 people listen to rap!!!!!!!

  • not to be like that, MEN VA FAAN! JÄVLA FITTA KOREANKINESHELVETE! sluta förstör vår kultur och BRA LÅTAR!

  • @MrHaxxaren ......du är snäll du....retard.

  • One of my big problems on piano was rushing the easier passages a bit.... why not slow this piece down just a tiny bit?

You're a huge playing talent... I'd love to hear your own compositions as well.

  • it is a little to fast ...

  • very good! well done at that age! Almost as good as the original :)

  • I just can dream of playing like you..and I don't want to critisize you, but practice to hold the tempo! :)

  • no matter how good you are there is always an asian who can do it better

  • @37andrus and younger than you

  • its it just me or his delay fucking with the song?

  • @XxJailhawkkxX no, its not just you, dude. His tempo is all over the place. Frankly, it drives me nuts. But he's already better than me at Andy McKee tunes. Just started learning For My Father last week, and I know I have several months of work ahead of me. And I've been playing guitar for 15 years.

  • @XxJailhawkkxX - It's called a cover for a reason, he is doing his own rendition of it so before you trash talk somebody who has better skills than you, learn it for yourself.

This kid is amazing and keeps getting better.

  • wher do you get those little finger picks

  • @uniquetricks at any music store that sells guitars. Go check em out.

  • it needs a redo, sorry

  • everybody could do that, but what's different is that he can do that in earlier age :)

  • bad very bad

  • Good but bit too fast

  • kid. you're my damn hero.

  • Damn!! Nicely done!! I wish I can play like that:(( ^^

  • I mean, youre 5000 times better than i am, no mean to criticize, but i noticed that you had some trouble keeping tempo

  • @Nosreaf Shut up

  • didhe diein the earth quake

  • awesome cover. altho i think he rushed a bit

  • Put more likes, or the child is gonna be beaten by his parents.

  • very good at that age

  • this kid pisses me off so much! :L

  • FFS this song is very hard to play so stop talking bulshit this kid aced it compared to most ppl.

  • Is it just me the notes are so messed up...

  • sounds awfull, Andy Mckee' s version is miles better

  • @Nicklasstrandskov When are you putting your cover up?

  • @samtheman3000 I m waiting for the same thing. Wanna see what he'd got that he could say this is awful.

  • @Nicklasstrandskov

This kid isn't even an adult, and he's able to do this wonderful display of sounds by the time he's andy mckee's age, his sounds will be amazing.

And obviously AM's version is better, he composed it and has far more years of experience.

  • @christianmhenry11 this would make a good bluesy rock cover i think

  • thank god he has a pick up. this is amazing.

  • Great !!!

  • Great !!!

  • Ok, come to germany, i want to adopt ya XDDD

  • I have been playing in excess of 40 years and I'm impressed by this piece, as well as this player. As for the "poker face" comment, I call it a "Guitar Face". Definition- a look of intense concentration from someone who cares about playing it right! No foul. Without soul, this young man wouldn't have had the dedication to put in the practice time neccesary to learn this difficult arrangement. I hope he keeps it up.

  • guys this is 2 yrs ago.

  • wonder where he gets his tabs from?

  • He just has a poker face =D

    Awesome peice of music !

  • Sungha is a very talented guitar player.

but in my opinion he plays without feeling.

     just saying.

  • music actually is pretty mathematic 0_0

  • Great techniques for a person of that age, And people should really stop trying to criticize him, sure he's not Andy Mckee, but a kid that can imitate a world class professional's songs with such confidence in they way he plays it speaks for itself. just imagine how far this kid will have gone at the age of 30! great work in my opinion and i admire him spending probably his whole childhood playing to get this good, and that's not always positive but i hope his parents are as proud as i would be.

  • I dont know, why people criticize this kid so much, about him having no soul in his music. Look at him now writing his own songs, and sounds almost as nice as andy some of andy mckee's songs. Soul isn't put on facial expressions, but into the way you play your music. (not saying that facial expression mean nothing.)

  • well you guys that are commenting get bored too fast...this kid is absolutely fantastic and way ahead of his time.

  • @arko823 Totally agree he is half my age but twice as good

  • @mohamedbeard twice as good.... probably more than that

  • ye sorry i like it but its nowhere near as good as the original. mainly because your literally just copying it i dont see any enjoyment goin on here or really getting into the song.. next time just play it for the heck of playing it and not making it a competition..

    nice work though

  • Of course it's not like an Andy, but... he's only 12 there, do you know anyone kid who playing in his 12 years like him? Can you imagine what he will do with the guitar when he'll grow up?)

  • I didn't know it was possible with an Andy McKee song. But i actually got bored with this video. Granted, this kid is good. But he's so God dang soulless and... blah... you know??? He completely butchered any feeling and emotion that originally came through the song and made it seem mechanical, Black and White, and depressing. :/ but that's just my humble opinion.

    final verdict:

    thumbs up for skill

big thumbs down for lack of feeling and emotion

  • i prefer that Sungha Jung compose his own music. besides he's got the talent.

Andy Mckee gets his music from his feelings and from his soul not from his ears and eyes. that is what makes Andy's music greater than Sungha Jung's.

  • Who cares if it's faster than the original?

  • You go little dude! Bravo!

  • Too all those who criticize this young man's playing is "too fast": he's probably too young to handle the emotion within this piece, but neither was this the purpose of the video. This is just a show-off of his fierce guitar skill, by challenging this masterpiece at such a young age.

BTW, he was on stage along with Andy McKee and Tommy Emmanuel during BAGC2010.

  • You guys are criticizing a young kid. I couldn't play this if my life depended on it and I'm willing to be none of you can either!

  • @TheTwoThumbs He does seem to be struggling a couple of times, but you're absoulutely right. This song is incredibly difficult to play. And for his age, he's incredible. Go Sungha!

  • Stop trying to copy all of mckees songs you cannot mimic a god

  • KEEP PRACTICE

  • are you from this planet?

  • alright, i agree, the kid isn't playing with soul. but why should he? its not his song. he is like what... 10 years old? he is doing better than most guitarists that are like 50 years old. i'm sure that if he write a song of his own, it would have plenty on soul to it.

    great job man

  • @NeverTellMeNo Imagine when he does put his heart and soul into a song!

  • @NeverTellMeNo Soul? Who are you to tell a musician that they're not playing with soul? It's up to Sungha to decide whether or not hes playing with 'soul'.

  • @myunicorniseatingme I'm assuming you don't play...

  • @NeverTellMeNo To let you know I do play guitar.

  • why i'm fully confident that he has a soul

  • Holy shit! someone give this kid a gameboy or something! thats crazy!

  • this kid is way too good

  • good job but toooo fast but still good job. Keep practicing

  • oh. . . my. . . a'god. . .

    hes good

  • Preachy, you don't prove anything...:l

  • Andy McKee must be proud of listening his music not plaid by himself. I would be.

  • cmon guys.

    he's still growing

  • I don't feel the same...fullness I guess?....for lack of a better word, as I do when I listen to the original by Andy, but this version is also spectacular. Take a beautiful masterpiece like this song and let two amazing guitarists let it run free through the strings and only good things can happen. =)

  • better than orginal

  • unfortunately hes not there yet... =(

  • i like the part where he plays the guitar (thumb up!!)

  • for a kid, even not getting some notes and and a lot of timing fails, this is grand, Sungha have a bright future, i cant wait to see his work when hes at his early 20's.

  • @RicardoBatistaPassos ....In case you are new to him, he is the most viewed guitarist on the internet as of now and has already written about 19 songs and several arrangements already. He has been touring around the world and jamming with many great guitarists too.

  • @vietcheesesteak no, im not new to him, ive know him since 2007, ive seen his progress over all his youtube uploads, and yes ive seen him playing with several, not many "great guitarrists" but i dont know much about his own work, if you say 19, that i dont know, thanks for the information, ill search his own material, looking foward to it.

  • esse guri é louco

  • stop saying bullshit... he es no mathematic... he just are concentrated becouse is a hard piece of music.... if you want soul... CLOSE YOUR FUCKING EYES AND LISTEN THE MUSIC... then talk about soul...

  • amazing for a kid.

  • this guy is good but Andy Mckee is the BEST

  • en mi defensa los asiaticos tienen el pito chiquito¡¡

  • Cheater..

  • Asians.... FUCK YEAH! Is there anything on this World, they can't do? Besides from "fail totaly" or "fuck up at something"?

  • @PestWar1349 Drive.

  • Awesome intonation, but not as smooth as McKee. Still, obviously ahead of most your age.

  • I wish my parents would have beat me and starved me to death at age 4 if i didnt play Guitar :/

  • Fuck Asians. He probably was forced to practice this shit for 5 years like a robot.

  • Yes, some parts may be a bit off, but come in guy's. If you can't do better then just stop talking. He hasd to practice hard to get to where he is now. Please follow his example.

  • This is very very good, but at some parts it's just too fast and sounds lke he's just wiggling his fingers

  • Comment removed

  • Its called "practice" guys.

  • Comment removed

  • yo sungha you should make a video of you playing drifting.. it would be sick

  • this kid is actually really good but a little fast on parts but other than that keep up the good work man!!!!!!!!!!

  • zzzz... just cause they say your a prodigy.... who cares , its not like your the best.. thats why you wont beat legends. who put heart and soul in music

  • @makantang how do you know if this kid doesn't put heart and soul in the music he plays? what a stupid comment.

  • its actually hacks

  • You know what the cheat is? Hardwork!

  • @tommyson47 how would a robot know what hard work is???

  • @flybikes29 They wouldint cause they robots. Even though, wouldint expect you to know what hardwork is either.

  • dis kid is a beast!! and the way he's slapping the guitar! he mkaes that guitar his bitch..lol

  • 113 jelous dislikes

  • No heart, no soul, man enjoy the music...

  • Your good enough for chuck norris because youre asian..

  • looks like fighting with the instrument :(

  • Not to bag you out (because I'm not half the guitarist that you are) but its missing passion

  • @siggism @8oblivious8 missing passion? no soul? now tell me.. since when did passion and soul became visible? you know, the soul of the music played and the passion of its artist are not something finite - both are not seen but are felt. You may say that you didn't feel the song but who knows? This kid might be playing this song with his whole heart. just sayin.

  • good techniques but too fast and without soul :-(

    music isnt mathematic

  • @8oblivious8 define soul. What does he have to do, go into some spiritual trance or some shit since when was it not enough to just be fuckin awsome on the guitar

  • @TheReilly8 This guy plays it too fast, and just worries about the notes as oppose to musical quality. He plays so fast at the beginning in fact that his music is too jumpy, and not a smoothly flowing song that was demonstrated by McKee. If he would just slow down and play more relaxed then perhaps this would be way more musical. I am not saying that this lil guy sucks, just that better music isnt always faster. This guy has hella talent, but he needs to play muscially, not mathematically.

  • @8oblivious8 Try working your way through ABRSM music theory and you might change your mind. I see what you mean about the soul of the piece but it's a very difficult song just too be able to play

  • @8oblivious8

it has a soul..it's fast because it just flows with his heart

  • @8oblivious8 If you just understood, that the soul itself is the mathematical expresion of god, mathematics it's the very machine that runs music, art and love itself! but people today are sick in the sense of thinking that the good things of life and in the world are the ones that are easy, comfortable and do not require effort, like pleasure and food. They don't realize that mathemathical reflexion of our minds is really the most glorious and beautiful gift in our nature.

  • @0Sebek0 music can be mathematical, and quite robotic if you interperet how you did;

-press this now pluck this now according to this mathematical division

real music is from the soul, it flows and is fluent, thats what you hear and see watching andy mckee, Sungha is talented but he lacks that musical maturity and thats what hes saying, wich is fair enough.. this kid will go far however

  • @8oblivious8 thats a problem when ppl are so young they learn it and dosent rly know what they are doing but im sure hell get more soul when he gets older:)

  • @8oblivious8 yeah is too fast but is hes own style, i think this is a nice job :)

  • @8oblivious8 nice comment +1

  • @8oblivious8 What are u smokin that Music Isnt Mathematic, Bpm its a RATE, uhm the notes are Divided up into Quarters, eighths, etc..all fractions.. Its all math bro, since day one its been math

  • @1694ktj

you dont play any intrument do you? otherwise you'd understand

  • @8oblivious8 Who are you to say if he puts his soul into his music? If he didn't he wouldn't be so talented at such a young age.

  • @8oblivious8 You're one stupid mother fucker. Drink another Budweiser dumb ass.

  • @8oblivious8 He's asian, and asian people loves mathematics.

  • @8oblivious8 just cause he's asian doesn't mean he puts math into it

  • @8oblivious8 No man. If he don't bob his head that doesn't mean he dont feel the music. If he dont have soul and dont feel the music how he will play it LOL? He feel it, he just dont show it :)

  • @8oblivious8 slowing down would require mathematics.. so please dont get technical just say good try and be done..

  • @8oblivious8 I'd have to agree there. It WAS a little fast.. sure he's young, but i don't believe that should be an excuse because he's practically got the guitar mastered and his skill shows it. And it DID look like he was just going through the motions and not really enjoying it. But still... i can't argue with results. Awesome job in my opinion. He's bound to be one of the best.

  • @8oblivious8 i would like to see you playing this ass! like brahyam said hes concentrated, btw, i bet that when you were his age u wer playing mindless videogames, and u probably still are. And probably you havent picked up a fucking guitar in your life so shut the fuck up!

  • @SpanishCousins If so much people doesnt agree with him, then why the votes to the comment? I bet people think his way but they arent brave enough to say it out loud.

  • @goh145 if he dosent like it then he dosent need to watch it, i dont go putting negative comments on videos i dont like u know? i have better stuff 2 do

  • @SpanishCousins jodr me acaba d enterar d k eres argentino/a yo soy español/a jejeje

  • good techniques but too fast and without soul :-(
