  • Would you kindly post "The Spiritual CAIN'T NO ONE KNOW if you have it

  • Voices! I said beautiful voices!

  • Wat year they did this performance?

  • @GeraldB526 Sorry for the missing info, it was 1990 on a 'Voices' festival in Maastricht the Netherlands.

  • @Geepereet Ok

  • @Geepereet I was born in 1990

  • great ! Ella Baker God keep you!!!

  • I saw them in 1987 when the line up then came to my campus. I was very entertained.

  • This version is surely as good as anything I have heard before in the 62 years of my life. It lifts me up. It is both comforting and inspiring, I am grateful for your generousity and expertise Thank .you

  • Completely and utterly moving!! There is something spiritual about this music. When will we rise up and finally live out our calling and take our rightful places??? O people of spirit, light, and life, let's get right!!

  • @soul2178 Amen brother!

  • sono tanti i modi di pregare....!!!! :-)

  • Love you Sweet Honey you are the best, I mean the best

  • Am soooooo stoked to go see Sweet Honey in Philadelphia on Feb. 20th!

  • This old white man has had his soul fed by Sweet Honey in the Rock for over 20 years now--wonderful group on every song.

  • waaayyy over awesom!! my first time ever being blessed to hear!

  • Love these voices. Costumers don't work, considering this is American folk.

  • @brelfan It's an African American group not just American

  • @brelfan: Part of their philosophy is to recognise and acknowledge the link with Africa;, ie that "American" music has deep roots in Africa. I think the "costumes" work really well.. (what uniform should they wear, if not their own choices? Denims? Shorts? tailored suits? sneakers? socks? pumps? What clothes/ style would be specifically and ,... by your standards..., appropriate and fittingly "American"? )

  • @libbamacushla I don't think they need "fittingly American" garb, but they are singing American folk, and the dress is incongruous. I would disagree that because the performers are African American, African dress is appropriate attire. It would be like an Irish American wearing St. Patrick's Day colors while singing American folk. Big Irish influence on American folk too. So?

  • @brelfan This is not "American Folk." This is distinctly Black American and borne out of the oppression endured over the last 5 centuries. You can't appropriate the parts of our culture that our convenient while continuing to deny other aspects. A part of having our entire culture stripped away during our forced migration to this land means that we have to re-create culture for ourselves in our own way. This includes trying to reconnect with our original culture in various ways.

  • @brelfan And f this is not a part of your experience, if this is not something you have to contend with, please have the respect and decency to withhold criticism. Engage in self-education instead. Here is history on the song and the woman who inspired it: (google ella baker's song and click on the link from the heroism website) youtube won't let me include the link.

  • @MiZLady79

I don't know you, but I "know you". Thank you and I love you ;-).

    Be well.

  • @BLACKREDTAILANGEL Wow, what a beautiful comment. Thank you and much love back to you.

Be ... fully who you already are. :-)

  • These are Americans...No?

  • GREAT!!!

  • Resonates in my soul.

  • I Saw them Recently I Love them That Bass is Great She Killed the Performance :)

  • exquisite, lovely, and powerful. love these ladies.

  • so glad i got to hear them live back in 06'...truly amazing freedom singers , may we all learn from the message they have been so brave to impart in us over the decades!

  • That is twisted thinking. A white Christian "speaking plainly" would not be a racist, but a white Christian talking like a racist would not be acting like a Christian.

  • i love them my grandma use to sign for them... rhey look good they look real good

  • We who believe in freedom cannot rest until all the "someonelse06" people understand. I know. It's a long haul. Pray for strength. If you can't fight, harbor the soldiers.

  • Someonelse, I would say you are just ignorant and limited. someday, who knows you make it to understanding.

  • Strong people don't need strong leaders - Ella Baker God Bless Everyone who is moved by this song

  • Fabulous! my spirit is moved by this.

  • i love them!

  • Excellant quality video..Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • "We who believe in Freedom can not Rest."

I watch this every night. I am reminded of

Dr MLK Jr, and all of the Freedom Fighter.

    Thank you.

  • I'm sure that's the spirit making dreams come true, keep on fighting so we will win all!

  • you know I cant help but think that is kind of a oxymoron, shouldnt we just stop fighting all together? everyone just lay down their guns and fist and say stop I shall fight no more?I will just love now?

  • They just came to my school, amazing performers...
