At first i liked the original charles better too, but i think thats because of the fact you have been watching the biggest part of the movie with that charles, and then all of a sudden a new one comes in. just like with the old and new billy (i like the new one better but.. ;$)

I am so glad someone else has posted Kyle Chandler's role in this film. I only wish there was more. I have been a fan of Kyle Chandler since I first saw "Early Edition" back in 1999. I didn't really like Friday Night Lights. To me, the show is boring plus I am not into football. I did like him in Early Edition, his best work, and Homefront. I seen quite a few of his films even his tv film "Sleep Baby Sleep" which I have on vhs as well as "What about Joan".

Kyle Chandler is absolutely GORGEOUS! I bught Part III of North & South just because of him. :) I also have First Edition...all of Friday Night Lights....and am waiting til they put Homefront out on DVD.....can't get enough of Kyle! Seriously though, he's a 'man's man' and a 'woman's man' all roled into one.....he's definitely got that masculine persona and at the same time he can be soft and passionate. STAY IN THE LIMELIFHT, KYLE....I don't want FNL's to ever end! :)

I agree, Kyle Chandler rules!
The pictoral montage is very romantic ... IMO, the Bee Gees song (good on its own) does not go very well with the pictures/time period.
Charles and Willa were absolutely the best looking couple on the North & South mini series. IMO KC was the best actor on the series, as well. (For one thing, his accent is authentic. I cringed when heard Robert Wagner's and some others.)

@1000Passwords well, I cannot agree. I always think and will be, that the best thing in all North and South was yes- Charles Main, but the one from Book I and II, played by stunning, absoluetly fantastic Lewis Smith, who was the one and only Charles Main for me, and Augusta. They were great and I just hate that they kill her.
