  • Great video man! Have you changed the pickups on the EJ Fender?

  • this is nice :)

  • R they George L right angled cables you're using?

Is it true that they always come loose at gigs and your signal drops? Btw what do you think of the tc vintage tube primer?

  • hi...thanks for the demo..do you think that the tc booster and distortion have enough gain for crunchy and fat sound, for powerchords..can i get a grunge sound out of it? thanks

  • No, it doesn't has much gain.

  • are this pedals true bypass?? if not, are they noisy??..sorry form my english..!! :)

  • @katarzis27 I kan haz mor gane?

  • Now THAT is what I call an AMAZING setup. After watching a whole bunch of pedalboard vids, finally one that doesn't have anything tone-sucking on it! Great setup! 5 stars!

  • hi thats a great demo. I have been playing guitar for quite some time, Influenced more by pink Floyd and Ac Dc and mostly progressive rock. Would appreciate your input, I am looking for nice pedals to create good quality sound, Which one or other tc electronic pedal should i go for.or would the marshal top up box do? Thank you.

  • How much would it cost for the entire rig? Would you sell it?

  • Your fingers and those pedals make great Pink Floyd sounds!:)

  • more gain plsssss

  • Aren't all these discontinued though?

  • the vintage series is.

  • and those are all intage series?

  • i thought your pedalboard was a tube screamer zvex, OCD H&K peterson and TC delay???

  • boss pedals dont suck, they just need modifications to make a purer sound. for instance, the bd-2 is a bit brittle and harsh, but w/ a keeley or analogman mod it would sound amazing

  • yea, like the metal zone. its the thinnest piece of shit ever, but with the keely mod, it sounds brutal. they do have bad bypassing though. theyr really sturdy pedals though, not like some of digitechs stuff

  • Great demo! I also use TC Electronic most of the time. Got 3 original 80's pedals and they are great. Thanks for uploading

  • Hi, Can you list all the name of your pedals, I'm interest in getting some of them. seem like the one on the far bottom right really add the boost to the sound. Thanks

  • i dont like that all the pedals look similar. just my opinion. sounds great though.

  • thats why boss is nice, theyre all different for the most part

  • HUH!!! are you kidding all of boss's pedals are virtually the exact same boss suck ass!!!

  • Nehh, I don't think you can say boss Sucks, they really made some kickass pedals

  • Yeah kickass to ruin your bypassed tone when turned off. That's why I sold my two boss pedals, they ruinied the sound of my Fulltone '70 fuzz.

  • I use many different pedals and i like some boss too, but i never heard about 2 pedals ruining the sound. sounds strange, you using good cables?

  • Ok, I own a Fulltone '70 fuzz pedal. I used to own a Boss CS-3 Compressor and a SD-1 Super-Overdrive. If i placed the CS-3 before the '70 it sounded just like crap(when the Cs-3 was off) and was unusable so i sold the boss pedals. That's my experiencence, has nothing with the cables to do because it doesn't happen if i place my Fulltone Clyde Deluxe wah before the '70 because it has true-bypass.

  • Thats very strange but not impossible. I experienced some of the same problems in the past, but those pedals are also sold now too ;-)

  • you know, they should really be paying you. you got great tone and great chops!

  • I guess you like TC?

But to other people looking at these, be aware that they are exactly the same as T-rex pedals. Only difference=other design and the T-Rex are cheaper! The reason; TC Electronic pays T-Rex in order to use their design. Don't get me wrong; i like TC but there's no need to buy these new pedals as they are cheaper and imo better('coz of the design=better colorscheme) made by T-Rex.

  • they're the same price...

  • Where?

In Europe and US, TC are more expensive than T-Rex! Plus don't you want the original thing?

  • we are talking about the vintage series, which is the same as the t-rex.

they're the same price and that's a fact.

    (199$ to the cheaper models).

anyway, the vintage series is disscontinude.

  • geez bro...this is an expensive pedal setup

    but still nice

  • Great review, you are getting some sweet sounds. I always like these demos better than the polished an produced ones on the manufacturers websites. Nice mix of playing to, from good grooves to really simple so we can actually hear what the pedal is doing.

I've never heard these pedals in person and am considering buying the T.C. G Major rack system which has many of those effects minus the distortions. How would you compare the individual pedals to that?

  • Man, do you have a router switcher for those pedals? Placing them between the guitar and amplifier doesn't sound like a good idea.. they suck tone and usually sound muddy and blury.

  • iirc, they're all true bypass.

  • they're not true bypass. but the components are as good as TB.

  • T.C. Electronic Fan boy? no?

  • As much as I HATE TC Electronic stuff I gotta admit, you get some pretty good sounds. The EJ Strat can't hurt either, right? I LOVE mine. Oh, yeah, being a good player probably helps too. Thanks for the demo, maybe I'll get off my high horse and check some of those stompers out...

  • Check out T-rex. Their pedals are identical to the TC Electronic Vintage series shown in the video. TC Electronic actually buy the circuit boards from T-Rex and put them in their own shells so to say. Point is the T-Rex effects are less known and usually come slightly cheaper.

  • Actually, I HATE T-Rex, there effects are much too sterile for my liking. Currently I'm really liking Diamond effects and I LOVE Mad Professor stuff. There's NOTHING in the world like Bjorn's stuff, for any price. Anyway, thanks. I love talking about gear!

  • Same love gear shit as well. But just saying that T-Rex is the exact same pedal as TC Vintage series but cheaper just so you know. Havent heard of Diamond and have yet to try Mad Professor. From my experience however T-Rex make very versatile pedals. At least their delay pedal and reverb pedal, both of which are stunning. Their tremolo is quite nice too but I wanna try a Vox Vibravox tremolo too though.

  • Seriously, try the Mad Prof delay. In my opinion it destroys ANYTHING digital that tries to cop an analog sound. It's not QUITE as good as a tape echo, nothing is, but it's the best I've heard. Their distortions are quite good as well, and they're expandning their line. check 'em out at mpamp dot com, and you can buy 'em at musictoyz dot com, as they have an excellent return policy should you find my assesment to be overzealous or incorrect.

  • I'll check em out but I've pretty much got my heart set on the T-Rex/TC electronic delay. It's fucking amazing. You can split into triplets and put on an "analog" resembling filter.

  • I checked out your other demo video (the one with the white custom shop strat) and noticed a comparison to the Mudhoney. I see what you mean about the VPD1. Nicer tone across the board. I don't use a Les Paul and have seen where some think it's voiced for the Strat. Thanks for the post..

  • So do you think the Vintage Distortion and the VPD1 might be redundant? Seems like you're getting a lot from the Booster+ and Vintage O/D combo..

  • Not at all...

    the VPD1 is my favorite.the v

distortion and the vpd1 it gives you other colors wich my crappy camera can't deliver.

check out the demo video of the VPD1 on tc electronic web site to get the idea.

  • Hey man...GREAT tones! It seems no matter which guitar you pick up (watched several of your vids) your tone is always great!

Anyway...VPD1...you commented in "Gear Demo#4" this: "...about the VPD1 - its the only pedal that sounds better in recording other than live :)." Are you saying it sounds AS good live as it does in recording?

Do you use the speaker simulator?

I'm considering one...just would like your "expert" opinion...

    Keep up the good work!

  • no,

i say its hard to get the right tone live, but in recording its much easier.

its sound very good in high volume in low volume i will not recomend it.

  • ok (thanks)...is the Classic Booster/Distortion good both live and in recording? IF you had to pick between the two..(VPD1 or Classic Boost/Distortion)...which would you buy? I'd like a pedal that sounds good for both live and recording....

  • i'd buy the H&K tube factor.

    best boost/od/dist i ever tried.

  • yeah...the HK was the FIRST one I checked out on the web....how come it's not in your arsenal? Gonna go check it out again...

  • it is.

don't let the demos on the H&K site fool you... it sounds a lot better.

  • awsome sound and awsome guitarist!!!!

  • Hey, Great Gear.

What Guitar Is Played Here ?

  • Watch the start of the video.. EJ sig strat.

  • sounds good man.
