The best thing about Adam and the Ants, IMHO, is that they were so innovative! I don't like to bash anyone's idea of music because it is such a personal thing - it either grips you or it doesn't - but most music today is more contrived than I like. Gimme my Stuart and his talent any day!

Adam & the Ants were the object of a lot of unfair ridicule in the early 80s. I never saw A & the A's live, but I did see Ant veterans Matt Ashman, Leigh Gorman and Dave Barbossa playing with Anabelle Lwin in Bow Wow Wow in 1981 after Malcom McLauren stole the Ants from Adam. All three: Matt on guitar, Leigh on bass and Dave on drums were smokin' players. I was floored at their skills as musicians & I've seen very few bands that played with as much power or confidence since.
