  • good job dude.

  • sounds great man,

    you've nailed it!

    kottke rules!

  • excellent really enjoyed it if you happen to have the tabs could you please send them thanks and well done again

  • You have talent. I think you would enjoy playing "Road" by Nick Drake.

  • nice!!!

  • very cool indeed !! I would love to hear your version of "Arms of Mary".. awwsumm picking !!

  • very nice!

  • You are good...but the piezo's gotta go!

  • very nimble fingerwork!

  • Sounds good either way.

  • Sounds good even on a 6 string. Kottke plays a 12.

  • Kottke also plays six-string. The version I've most heard of this song is played on a six-string.

  • i agree about the longies

  • Awesome Job!!

  • it kinda looks like its on fast forward..lol its good =]

  • GREAT job, man. I've never heard the original, but I think it's safe to say that you did it justice. Heck of a lot better than I could do.

Keep the videos coming! They are all excellent.

  • I like your picking, but I must be honest and say that the guitar sound is a bit on the poor side. Perhaps it is because you made a line in recording using your guitar piezo pickup

  • This kid can play Leo Kottke almost as well as the man himself! Very nice.

  • damn man thats hendrix fingers right there

nice playing wish i was even a percent as good as you

  • damn ur insane!!!!

  • wish i had a skill like yours :) great job!!!

  • dude this guy has long fingers

  • Very nice version. Don't see many people able to play Kottke covers

  • dam ... that was good. you aint bad kid.

  • new song never heard of -can u send me the tab

    5 stars

  • any ideas wher i could finds tabs for this one??

  • Nice one :)

  • Fantastic job! You don't often see that kind of finger picking. It's just great!

May I suggest the next time you do a cover song, do Never Going Back Again by Fleetwood Mac. I love that song and it's a tricky piece of picking :)

  • It was cats like leo who made me switch from guitar to bass. I'd love to be able to play that stuff, but it's just so physically difficult, and I think to some extent it's something you have to be born to do, especially when you get your fingers picking leads while your thumb plays bass lines. Good job dude.

  • LobsterMassage: in my opinion, it's all in practice. Anything you really want to do, you can do if you practice diligently. This guy is really good.

  • Leo is very difficult to emulate especially on a 12 string. You make the 6 string sound amazingly articulate and full.A standing ovation for you!

  • maybe i'm growing old but didn't songs used to have a melody and a theme and guitars used to sound like guitars and not shoe boxes strung with elastic bands

  • I'd say this song does have a theme. I don't know if it can be considered a melody because it is ultimately carried by chords, but that's dont to create depth with a solo instrument. And there are even variations on that theme! And it sounds pretty musical to me.

And since I'm now being held to higher production values, I'll consider this my rite of passage from hobbyist to amatuer! Would you like to make a donation so I can purchase a decent microphone?

  • i would like to see you play this..

quit bashing people when you only say that shit cause you wish you could play like him

  • The Good Lord certainly spoilt a perfectly good arse giving you a set of teeth! You talk out of it so might as well eat through it. You're just another jobsworth! Eat Shit you jealous twerp!

  • i'm not saying I could play as well as this technically - all i'm saying is that it might be nice if you could remember the melody after listening to it. Its just a comment not a personal attack

  • That's not what you were said at all! You infered that this lad sounded like he was playing a 'shoe box with strings'?

He has one up on you, his guitar playing and technique are impeccable, that is something you will never match with the time you have left on God's green earth!

Eat your heart out and go buy a chord book!

  • GOOD!!never heard this one, yet havin enjoyed his music for so long I'd tell you're really close."so much fingers" you got ,I'd train to use them in an ergonomic way: chromatic scale the classical way, legatos, things like that, just basics. then there is so much 'round,I'd get g. van eps method...listen to lenny breau, tuck andress, duck baker, p bensusan, baden powell,,j renbourn, t emmanuel .in case u know them already... sorry for being so teachy, just growin old. u asked:-)

  • great simply just great.

  • I don't know Kottke's version but I can't imagine it's any better! Those are some crazy fingers you got there.

  • Awesome!
