I'm trying to learn locking, and finding this video is a gift from heaven. He makes it look so easy, relaxed, yet awesomely funky. Thank you, Skeeter Rabbit, and may you rest in peace :)
Love foundation moves yo. I guarantee you if you can learn this moves you can add as many variations as you want and make it your style. Golden age hip-hop was the best ya feel me?
Can anyone tell me which is this from James Brown and the other songs that is played in this video??!!! Please reply as soon as possible... Thanks! =)
its true that the old tutorials are better than more recent ones, i think its because people concentrate more on the broken down version rather than the move itself
I feel that the way of making tutorials has evolved a lot, I mean, in most of old tutorials, dancers just repeat slowly their moves, without breakin' 'em down or explaining in detail. But this shit is still WAAAY more helpful than many other (recent) tutorials :-O
I did not know Skeeter Rabbit before but after watching this video and reading about him, I really respect him for the impact, huge contributions and influences across funkstyles and hip hop. your legacy lives on Skeet (:
@MBirdDancer You, my dear sir, are a natural born talent for me ! Your video inspired me so much, I'm about to throw away the dance Im into, so that I can start locking. Ty.
@bboyMojo2590 Thanks man! I hate being injured, (Just pulled a muscle, nothing serious) especially because you can't dance to your full potential. Get well soon though!
Oh wise one, are you able to name the song that plays whilst skeeters doin the funky chicken/broadway n during US points, coz im getting the impression from the posts is that ppl can name all the other songs but that one.
I'd appreciate it and pray for u if u deliver,,,everyone noes me as being very religious, so...:)
Much love to you .. and much respect to Stephen Nichols RIP a great legend, However the History to the name Skeeter Rabbit goes all the way back to 1971, and there is an Original who came before Stephen. The Original Skeeter Rabbit created the step. The Lockers, Ogs and the Electric Boogaloos will tell you the truth regarding the origin of the Name and the Original SR(James Higgins) who created both , we regret that locking has suffered so much confusion without accurate teaching of its history
hey can anyone tell me, if uve seen step up the movie any of them, can u tell me what type of dancing the character "moose" who is the little guy with curly hair and a bridged nose does. what is is dancing called?
It's so farkin sad to see this... especially the first sentence of this video.

sifujordan 2 years ago
You are right. More and more people will dance Locking from now on.
You compared Locking to Ballet. In Locking, it has short history. Locking was created by early 70s. On the other hand, Ballet has longer history.
In Korea, Locking is famous. I saw many people in US coying Locking movements from youtube. It's really good thing. But, there's one problem.
Many of those people started teach Locking after taking 1 or 2 classes.
africalockers 2 years ago
Yeah that's my point. I think people just saw it as a dead or dying dance, so they refer to it as old school. IT's only because the funk styles were all social dances. I'm glad people are starting to see the styles in a more serious light and trying to learn it more in depth. I just dont like when people try to teach the watered down versions ! :)
sifujordan 2 years ago
Shabbadoo from The lockers mentioned that he had spent very long time to know Locking.
As you mentioned above, it's easy to access. But it's not easy dance.
