  • bloody awesome . . . we can all forgive Van Morrison for being such a personal shit at times! Material like this make up for any human failings

  • This is summer of 1986, as given by poster. Saw him that 4th of July in Mansfield, Mass (venue then called, Great Woods), and Van was definitely "on". Unfortunately, he didn't do "Rave On, John Donne" that night...grrr. However, he did do one helluva-best-I've-heard-to-date blues version of "Clowns" for the final encore. This band includes the blonde-tressed Terry Adams on cello of Caledonia Soul Orchestra fame (early-mid 1970s); looking & sounding as beautiful as ever. Great post, TVC.

  • John Donne - the only statue that didn't get burned in the great fire of London

  • If this ain't genius, god knows what is.....

  • Rave on Van, this is poetry. this is what you had to say.. Irish blues. the Irish really had a reason to sing the blues... I have always thought this was one of your best..Rave on Jonne Donne Rave on...

  • Thank YOU for providing us with stuff Van made we hadn't already listened to. Helps me learn how to make good music ;)

  • 1973?? really? I don't think so... Sounds more like the eighties

  • @Lykief You are correct Lykief it's actually from 1986 as the picture on the video indicates. I titled the video wrong and I apologize. Thank you for pointing it out!
