Wow, thanks for the views! Never thought this would be this big. I remember it only had 300 views and now it's almost half a million. I'm glad to share this piece of art with you.
Everyone who claims this is house, this goes beyond the borders of house. It recalls a time when music wasn't categorised in music stores as 'house' and 'urban' and 'techno'. This could just as easily be called DETROIT techno.
@burrorojo19 Oh this is classic retro house and sounds more chicagoish than detroitish to me. Till today I was almost sure it's Hercules' track, it sounds soo them.
@blinski1 The point I'm making is that the two genres were not labelled as such when this music was being made back then. Those piano stabs are very reminiscent of the stabs from Inner City's classic tracks Big Fun and Good life. Kevin Saunderson, the producer of Inner City, is of course credited as one of the inventors of techno, and those stabs can be heard on countless techno tracks that have been coming out over the last 20 or so years.
@burrorojo19 And the Inner City reminiscences are what make this track so silimilar to Hercules an Love Affair tracks:) Of course, Saunderson was the one of the techno inventors (check great 'Tranzister' from 1988, it's to be found here), but not everything he created was techno - Inner City was classic house act.
@blinski1 I repeat, the two genres were not labelled and boxed so neatly when the music was first being created. Many people saw techno as a futuristic variant of house music, and other times, there was no distinction. Thus, there are crossovers. Inner City and Rhythim is Rhythim were just as much a techno acts as they were house ones, and my point about the filtered and transposed piano stabs found in this and other techno tracks still stands.
@burrorojo19 Ok, I know in late 80's all today genres have just started to clear out, so it was rather discretionary wether some track was more house or techno. But looped piano stabs (and later organ stabs as well as piano) were rather house element and still are (I would say it's the one of few things that hasn't changed:) Ok, I quit it;)
@blinski1 True, but same in techno. If it's any kind of compromise, I think that the piano chords at the beginning (and the first 50 or so seconds of the track) sound very, very housey. But at the 50 second mark, those transposed chords with the effects on them have the icy cold sound of Detroit. This track belongs to that era, but neither genre, purely. It's good that we can have this discussion, aside from the lame bullshit that Youtube is usually useless for. :)
Hi guys, Im Alixander III of AZIII and I just want to say thanks for all the love, this was a project based on love and hope and change. Sure its got elements of a bygone time, and in this fucked up world of greed, hate and complacent fashionism, we just want to feel something again.
@biggnoize wow when i first this i tought it was made in the 90s marshall jefferson style right here love this sound the voices and the melody i just went back into the 90s!
@biggnoiz Elements of bygone times? nothing wrong with! Never forget the good things of the past. Missed your performance at Pukkelpop due to the storm.

Oh my god. My entire childhood I was raised on the leftover house and disco cds of my parents. Since then I've been in love with that synth bass sound, and this style of house. This is so perfect haha.
@vortex755 I actually thought this was an old school Chicago track until I researched a little more in to the group. Can't wait to see them live soon.
@SoyVeleta Yes but sometimes simple is the best way.......so you say your little brother could provide and sing lyrics like this?..don't think so mate, Most house tunes today have the same loops and BPM's it's what you do over the top that counts and i'm sure if you was in a club with prietty girls dancing to this you would not bore them with your pulll down of tunes like this?..didn't think so lol this is a top tune, old progress type your probably only 17?
