This group was a regular on the T.V. show "Where the Action Is", near the end of the show's run in early 1967. Members of this group had been friendly with members of Paul Revere & the Raiders, who were regulars throughout the show's entire run, from mid-1965 through March 1967. This song was a hit shortly after the show went off the air.
Yes you are right. Song was big in California markets as high as 15 but nationally it stalled out at 53 or so. The band stuck it out for 3 more releases and went psychedelic and renamed Touch in 69. they broke up for good shortly after.
