And, after all, it isn't really about TV shows or music. It's about innocence.

Some of these trends are unique to different locales. The TV station you mentioned, I didn't get, and nobody I knew owned a yo-yo, but I was 8-18 in the 90s and remember a lot of it. I am not American, though, and different places have different trends, even in the same decade.

@goodparley19 Since Pokemon was huge in the late 90's (1998-99), I believe it was mostly popular among kids born in the late 80's and early 90's. In general, I don't think it had much appeal to those who were teens at the time (like yourself for example). Just a thought.

@StardeAnamdi Actually, you'd be pleasantly surprised to find out how many teens loved Pokemon in the late 90s (although I have to admit for 7th grade and up it was much more popular with the gamer crowd than just popular in general, especially for high schoolers). A noticable amount of my classmates (born 82-87) loved Pokemon. I even read read a post online by a woman who was born in 1981 talking about the Lavender Town tones giving her a headache when she played the game in high school.

The 2000's does geniunely suck for what it is, but adults only say that it sucks because they have greater memories of the 1980's or 1990's, mainly because that was their childhood and they prefer their years over everyone elses. @StardeAnamdi Actually, you'd be pleasantly surprised to find out how many teens loved Pokemon in the late 90s (although I have to admit for 7th grade and up it was much more popular with the gamer crowd than just popular in general, especially for high schoolers). A noticable amount of my classmates (born 82-87) loved Pokemon. I even read read a post online by a woman who was born in 1981 talking about the Lavender Town tones giving her a headache when she played the game in high school.
