A lot has come to light about the time we parted all those years ago - mainly that her (soon to be ex) husband lied his way into her life and spoiled the chance we had all those years ago. She has been waiting for me to "come home" for over 25 years and I had no idea how unhappy she was. We are older and have lost the chance at OUR family but - who cares? We still love each other and that's what matters.

@boredinhialeah Oh no, you're not alone - I have these feelings all the time about my first girlfriend even though we broke up nearly 30 years ago ... 3 or 4 times a year I drive to the village she lived in (a 60 mile round trip) just to look at the house she lived in, it hasn't changed at all! Why is it so hard to let go?

@boredinhialeah It's my experience that, once we've loved someone, that love never dies. Though contact may end, either involuntarily or by choice, that person still has a place in our hearts. That doesn't mean you can't love another, nor that you're unfaithful if new love comes and the older love still lives in your heart; that's just how love is. In the end, love in the broadest sense is meant to bind us all; what you're experiencing is just love evolving in a somewhat imperfect world.

My husband was my second boyfriend then the third one was my last and i think my first love bec I just didnt feel the same to the first and second relationship I had.
