OMG there is just SOOOOOOOO much music still yet to be discovered in my young life!!! I too first heard this masterpice in the movie short bus. It still trips me way out to think of this older white lady who from most of her pics looks like she's about to have lunch at the White House and sing for the Pres. She does'nt look at all like the kind of person who could scat with such skill and control. they way she masterfuly leaves certain words unresolved is so sweet and rich!! LOVE HER!!

@SUPREMEQUEEN09 I'd heard it first in Tom & Jerry when I was a kid. Heard this version on Shortbus too! Was an amazing song for the opening of the film. The song in general makes me melt and her scat singing is simply unbelievable...so basically..I'm agreeing with you XD
