It's an old Scottish song. Reworked by Robert Burns. The traditional old word for Rush:

(1. an annual or perennial plant growing in wet places and typically having grasslike cylindrical leaves and small green or brown flowers.)is Rash. So it is one and the same thing.

You guys really play well. And as long as I have been singing and performing and listening to traditional folk music, I always knew it as rushes. Robert Burns did write a poem called "Green Grow the Rashes, O," but the song is 'Rushes' not 'Rashes.'
