Im in Japan for almost 9 years already, and yeah people here are racist, they hate other asian people, and they dont like much western guys.
People who think that japanese people are humble, respectful and polite are people who see Japan on a bunch of unninformed documentals or they just see lots of anime shit.
Just think about this, they use the justice ministry to deal with inmigration, justice? justice my ass,in my country we have an inmigration ministry.
@KurtSam143 I'm sorry man, but you obviously DON't live here and just that alone in my books says that such a comment is invalid! I have been through a world of shit here regarding racism and so have most of my friends.. so when you come and live here discrimination free then you can talk! oh by the way... Im trying to help a friend find a place to live but MOST real estates don't deal with foriegners and over 90% of houses for rent here state NO FORIEGNERS! dont talk to me about Japanese man!
@RawCombatJapan lol.... really...... 85% of the time..... other foreigners fucked up the apartment and whatever and that caused japanese people to be mean
@RawCombatJapan japan hates all foreigners, they dont target specific races. so you are wrong, they are not races, they just hate foreigners, especially westeners
ha i've always wanted to just go cruising down a freeway in japan. It was fun to watch this! Btw who's album are you guys bumping? The songs sound pretty cool.
YES. check out my channel, its mainly in Japanese but it has alot of vids on travelling through Japan and teaching security & police which I do for a living in Tokyo besides bodyguard work. Peace
@PlayBeyondNews I'm white and live in Japan... I don't find Japan racist but I lived in South Korea for almost three years before being here and Korea is definitely racist so Japan seems mild in comparison. I can "feel" racism in Japan but don't hear it very often, the worst is just people saying "oh, a foreigner" as I walk by.
A good analogy for being white in Japan... being white in Japan is like being black in America in the 1980s. Being black in Japan is... not good, from what I've heard.
@londonman7 Well, I have a couple of black friends here and they don't seem to mind it. They've mentioned little things but nothing that really stood out as being horrible. I think the rule of thumb is that the closer you live to a large city, the fewer problems you will have (and that goes for any foreigner in Japan, not just black foreigners). Anyway, you'll be fine. Come! XD
@incognito84 btw, when I wrote that first comment I went and asked some other people about what they thought about it. I think I over-exaggerated a little bit in the first comment. Yes, racism does exist here but the thing about Japan is that whatever personal feelings people have, they're hidden underneath layers and layers of politeness and social programming. You probably won't even notice it unless you're looking for it.
@incognito84 Thanks for the advice, it was greatly appreciated. I've booked my flight for August. I have to admit i became a little apprehensive about Japan when i first read your post. I guess its because Japan is so different and its the fear of the unknown for me. Anyway, your post was very informative and i appreciate you taking the time to answer my query. Thanks again
