@DarylHanley YEah but I think having them die of sccarlet fever is more effective in the film. Look at the significance of the smaller hook, he avoids it until he falls in love with william because it was his sons. I think its better that way personally.
They also missed out when Tom nd the boys take a holiday 2 the seaside nd when willie meets the middle age art teacher that lives in the old creepy cottage lol still a good film tho :)
Alot of whats happened allready doesnt happen that way in the book.Theyve missed loads out and sped things up way too much. For instance,Zach doesnt speak to Will till about the third chapter, certainly not straight away. They should remake the film and capture the mood and events of each scene more accurately and not miss such a huge amount out
But Wilf is always happy and he grins a lot and despite being almost a teenage boy, he's not too proud to dance and perform – he’s pretty good at it too. I have great admiration for people like him and Zack and only hope that I'm enough like them. Perhaps I might dare myself to wink at a peer as Zack did if ever I found one staring at me, because if they're naive enough to stare in the first place nowadays they're probably not the sort of people that would mind if a classmate winked at them.
I always smile when Zack's in the scene because he's such a lovely person. He reminds me of my little cousin Wilf, who is as friendly and good-natured a child as ever lived. He has two older brothers that are somewhat cleverer (academically) and much taller than him, and they are good lads with gentle souls, but very shy and like most teenagers they look down at the floor a lot and shrug and don't speak much.
wait...willie does faint, but he also pukes in the book...but anyway in my class we are reading the book...i feel so sorry for him when he crys because he's happy it made me nearly cry ;)
@DarkDawner99 he i was reading the book guess what when he gets back he gets sortta abused by his ill mother AND HIS MOTHER STEALS A BABY! :O I THINK..!
Well that doctor wasn't very helpful, but it is 1939 after all there isn't the convenience of having pull ups or protective sheets

Tom looks at a picture of his wife and child in this but in the book it says the wife died at childbirth and the child died soon after, as a baby.

@DarylHanley They both died of scarletina in both book and film. Though the baby died in the book but in the film, he was a young boy.

I think they spared those details in the film and left the obvious to our imaginations.
