Was in the military in the Persian Gulf when I got a letter from my mom and she mentioned that Duane had died. Knew it was the end of Floppy and cried like a baby. Had a hard time explaining it to my fellow sailors...
I am flying in tomorrow ... and one stop I will make is the Iowa Historical Society museum in DSM ... to see the Floppy display ... and the Fairgrounds ... I wanna see the Floppy sculpture ... :)
I used to watch Duane & Floppy on WHO when I was little, 3:30 PM, Tom & Jerry, now I am sharing Tom & Jerry and the stories about Duane & Floppy with my kids. Hard to believe how long it has been.
That was the awesomest show when I was a kid. I was on the show on my 5th birthday!!! I'll NEVER forget it!!! I got to hold a question mark! And some little kid told a dirty joke!!(I didn't get it then...) Does anyone knoe the name of the store where the Floppy sirts are sold? I really gotta get a couple!!!! Thanks for the video!!!!!
My son bought it here in DM about 10 years ago, and drove it to Bishop. When he was back in DM, he donated it to Brad ? who owns a t-shirt shop in DM. Brad has a good supply of t-shirts.
Why did they do this tribute on a Tuesday?!?! I was in Iowa from Chicago over the weekend and I was at the State Fair wearing my Floppy t-shirt. I REALLY wish they would have done this tribute over the weekend so all of us who were visiting from out of town could have seen this. I'm really grateful that you posted this since I couldn't participate in the tribute. THANK YOU!!
I am a true Floppy fan and hope to be a shadowy reflection of Duane and his ventriloquism pal.

Floppy--watched him as a kid--then re-discovered him at ISU--
Why did the man put his car in the oven?
He wanted a hot rod!

Leiferik- Not sure why the date wasn't on a weekend. The Floppy van was in Bishop, Ca. for
10 years and when my son (who owned it) was in
Des Moines, we ran across Brad at his shop in the East village and he towed it back and the rest is history. Thanks for the reply.

My son, Brad Larson, lives in Bishop, Ca. He
bought the Floppy van about 10 years ago, and
drove it to Bishop, Ca. When he was back home in Des Moines, he ran into the Brad that owns the t-shirt shop here in DM, and gave the Floppy
van to him. It was then hauled back here to
DM. And Yes Floppy t-shirts are available here in DM.
Thank for your interest. Steve Larson
