Anyone....... IMDb and Wikipedia stated the duration of this film is 73 minutes but this upload by hwbanger is only 60-61 minutes same as the version from archive(dot)org! Archive(dot)org is never wrong and is really reliable. Somebody care to explain.......
ADSLISKEWL -- Judging from the typography in the opening credits, I'm gonna guess the music was attached to the film in a re-release in the early sound days -- around 1928 to 1930 or so. It's pretty unlikely it's "original" music from 1918, because even though filmmakers had experimented with sync'ing sound recordings with film as far back as the 1890's, there wasn't a practical way to do it until the Vitaphone process became successful -- around 1926. So this music's prolly CLOSE to original.
The larger theaters may have had orchestras, but many film were released with not much more than a piano score of compiled from classical and theatrical music.
This video's soundtrack is no exception.
Only major films had specially composed scores.
A silent era organist related that frequently films were delivered and the scores were either missing or not provided. His solution was to preview the film and improvise appropriate music and/or play popular music for the film.

cool the music fits perfectly here, thus I am sure it's the original film score.

yeah..., gorgoroth is more my thing

@EinPrimitivling Not all movies can be scored with popular music of today. If you want a movie with new music, then do not watch a silent movie.

this music sounds like it could well be the original, is it?

Always wanted to see Elmo Lincoln. Thanks for posting. They sure weren't bashfull about padding things with plenty of stock footage even in 1918.
