  • italy what side were you on the nazi side thats part of your history you forgot ...

  • @finlyhunt Sorry, not sure how your comment relates to MMA, but, Italy was an Axis power at the beginning of WWII. Then the Italian people rose up, killed Musilini, and joined the allies. I didnt forget that fact, it just wasnt relevant to a discussion of MMA.

  • @brooklynmonk1 Also, Cambodia was part of the axis because they were under Vichy French during the war, and allowed the Japanese to occupy. Unlike Italy, however, the Khmers did not rise up and kill a primary axis leader. Cambodia remained under axis control till the end of the war.

  • We have Kick Boxing durring Angkor period. When there is someone who is best in kick boxing, we cal the cheung ek, (leg #1).

  • I just want to set things straight with Cambodians and Thai. Cambodian invented Muay Thai. Muay thai was originated from Cambodians. Why do you think Khmer people don't like Thais. Because they are stealers. They are not innovative people. My uncle have a huge map of what cambodia used to be before our higher up married a Thai women. Read Cambodia history you will see Thai people are people who claim what isn't theirs'

  • @mayboyxykivsandy Cambodians hate Thais because they BELIEVE Thais stole Muay Thai. But obviously, you have no proof or historical records to prove that they did. There are about ten or twelve bas reliefs in bayone and angkor wat temple depicting a martial art, but we already use those as proof of bokator. so, you need to find other proof.

  • @brooklynmonk1

So what is know the difference between "Muay Boran" and "Bokator" ???

Is Muay Boran more similiar to Muaythai or to Bokator ?

  • @mayboyxykivsandy as for the size of khmer kimngdom, yes, it used to be much larger. what's your point? Italy used to cover the whole known world, but we don't cry about it now. instead, we invented the renaisance, then high fashion, expensive cars and watches, the best food in the world...we keep inventing new things, rather than complaining that someone took our kingdom away. It is a much healthier approach. What did Angkor or cambodia build or contribute to the world apart from angkor wat?

  • @brooklynmonk1 it is much harder to bounce back from mass genocide, especially when those educated such as doctors, lawyers, engineers and anyone else that contributed to the idea of a greater Cambodia was targeted and murdered. The Khmer rouge subjected Cambodia to a radical social reform process aimed at creating a purely agrarian based communist society which sent Cambodia "back to the stone age."

  • @killahkhim Khmers killed khmers. khmers destroyed their own intelligencia, no one made them do that. Italy was smart enough not to do that. but it is a myth that cambodia has ever been anything but an agrarian cosiety. before the khmer rouge time there was only one university in the country. today 80% of the population works in agriculture.

  • @brooklynmonk1 "Italy was smart enough not to do that." with that being said I'm going to watch some Jersey Shore.

  • @killahkhim You didnt answer the second question. How many meals did you eat today? You said you were willing to give up a normal first world democracy such as Italy in exchange for a single temple in Cambodia. Have you actually done that? are you now a rice farmer in cambodia? No one is stopping you from doing that, if that is really what you want.

  • @brooklynmonk1 What are you talking about? re-read the comment. I simply stated that I would rather leave behind an intricate architectural design like Angkor Wat over "expensive cars and watches." I know I have a blessed life, with that said I also understand where I come from and the hardships my parents had to endure to give me this life. You call me a "fool" but to each his own.

  • @killahkhim But it's not an oppinion, it's a fact, you have chosen NOT to live in cambodia because any reasonable person knows your life is better outside. you have also failed to demonsrtate how angkor wat in soem way comp[ensates for hunger and poverty. italy gave THE WORLD the renaisance which had a much greater influence on the outcome of world history than did angkor wat. but we also have wealth and nice watches and democracy.

  • @brooklynmonk1 Why do you insist on comparing the two countries? I see where this discussion is headed so I will just end it, you are obviously a person that is never wrong. Both countries are beautiful nonetheless.

  • @killahkhim You said you would rather have angkor wat than all of the benefits of a first world democracy, then you referenced Jersey Shore as if to somehow insult Italy, as most of the cahracters on the show are Italian Americans. Once again, Italy had considerably more influence on the world, but in general, people would rather have food and jobs and democracy than an old temple. You calimed the oppisit, but it was a lie because you have chosen to live in a first world democracy.

  • @brooklynmonk1 As for Cambodia's contribution to the world being one of the "wonders of the world," I believe Angkor Wat speaks for itself. I would choose that over "expensive cars and watches" any day.

-Great fights though!! I had no idea Cambodia had an MMA team.

  • @killahkhim Then you are a fool. most of cambodia's population lives well below thepoverty line with 40% suffering from malnutrition. I dont see how angkor wat helps them. how many meals do you eat each day?

  • Both Fighter was great !

Khmer had good Kicks , and his MMA Enemy was realy good in defence and he was realy fast. The end was realy good!

  • @Khmer96pride Yeah the guy tevin is fighting is a champion in Malaysia. and this was only tevin's second fight. But ALL the people in Malaysia saw that he and Bokator-fighter Ravy were good fighters, eben though they lost. and the Malaysians invited them to come back. and now they want to give free training and even support for living so some Khmers can train in Malaysia. this trip was the biggest success ever! Making friends all over the world.

  • Because cambodian hate thailand they Spread Rumors about thai stole their martial art if anyone want to belive them that fine but if anyone want to know the Truth u can search in youtube between our art before develop to sport martial art search " Oldest Thai Boxing footage ever from 1920's " and " Bokator/Pradal Serey, Angkor Wat Cambodia 1930s "

    it total deference fighting style.

  • @arm61037 Do you need more proof that before Thai had a huge monument we gave you it. Look at the history carefully. You only look at facts of your own people. Thais' are descendant. Look at our history and compare are real size in Asia. We were huge. I don't mean to disrespect. But, before you start, you need to see the bigger picture. You mutheruckers are liars. We gave up our land because our emperor married your queen. We hate thai people for a reason. Take the time to look. You will see why

  • @mayboyxykivsandy "our size in Asia" do you mean cambodia's size? 16 million, it is about fifth from the bottom after lao, singapore, brunai and east timur.

  • I think the Bokator Fighters should keep on doing their game! The long training in technice pays of, and they are hard as hell.. Experience will teach them how they use their attacks even better, because i think it is some good fights.. BUT they have to be AWARE of what a regular MMA fighter wants to do with them - The submisions.. Then they can counter on this... I think it is a good beginning for the Bokator in MMA and i look forward for seeing more!

    Regards

    BokatorFriend, Denmark ;)

  • @kawhno1 Thanks for that, and yes, I agree with you. we will fight again in Mayhem III in December, and spend the next two months learning grappling.

  • Khmer Boxers need more ground work and hand speed and hand power punches and ask Master Chheth Sarem to show our boxers the trick when they grab and fall he know best technic and flying knee from Master Troeung Sosay. I remember when Master Cheth Sarem fought with Thai old day Thai always got Ok by him 95% when he fought. Thank

  • @1cung yeah but cheth sarem was not fighting MMA he was fighting Khun Khmer which is very different. flying knee would be a terrible idea in most MMA fights. the real issue for our team is ground fighting, not hand speed. and that can only be learned from foreign instructors, the French MMA professionals who trained me and who are helping my Khmer brothers, know the best about MMA and ground fighting.

  • I also for got to say... In any stand up fights. Khmer are so good and rarely lose. But when you watch them in mma, we/Khmer sure lack alot on ground work. But still the best in my eyes. They are getting better. Much love from WA!

  • @khmerbraveheart Thanks for that. Yeah keep in mind, these guys are Bokator, not Khun Khmer, so if we went into a Muay Thai competition, we wouldnt be as good as the average pro, but to fight MMA in Asia, the Khmer Bokator guys will have better stand up than most, like you said. They have good elbows and knees. i want to teach them more English boxing. But like you said, the ground work is the big thing we need to work on.

  • DAMM! he got kick and flew hahahaha!

  • @khmerbraveheart That's the Khmer power!

  • The team has a lot of potential. I can't wait to see how you guys progress.

  • man Tevin almost got him really good with that reverse elbow that was epic Antonio i want to see more of the fight

  • @BokatorNinja09 That was the whole fight. The win was awarded to the Kazak. It was a fair decision, but also, a great fight.

  • I was rooting for the bokator fighter, but that take down and arm bar combo was sicc, props.
