@luno44 you need two strings set each side... so as one unravels and turns the stick the other is being wound up (and visa versa when closing the book)
hope im making sence... i learnt the trick watching 'TWIRL POP UP BABY CARD' it uses the same tecnique...
@luno44 I think it will :-) you just tweek the design... lighter stick (because its only going to have one end secured) and the stick in a tube hinge ( so it can twirl as its lifted from the page)... well thats how id do it lol
how do the things spin on the 2nd pop up?

@luno44 there are strings wrapped round the sticks so when its opend the sticks work like spinning tops

@twistmenot I just watched a popup baby card and the stick is on an axis 90 degrees to this one. I'm not sure if the same design would work.
