Butler dit des choses intelligentes quand elle réussit à ne pas bégayer...
Elle forme avec Zizek un duo riche et intéressant, avec une opposition de style très comique et une vraie relation, à l'évidence (ils devraient faire un film ensemble).
totally agree with huwlemmey. Butler was doing just that here. She isn't active (here or elsewhere) when she's talking to others. Zizek is just on a different level.
Gilles Deleuze said: "Si vous etes pris dans le reve de l'autre, vous etes foutu" - if you are caught in another's dream, you are lost. In ex-Yugoslavia, we are lost, not because of our primitive dreams and myths preventing us from speaking the enlightened language of Europe but because we pay in flesh the price for being the stuff of others' dreams. - SZ
stupid diversion, relax brain tension from stress from catching up to their theory. i can understand it =). anyway this is not the place to make philosophy beyond zizek and butler within (Remaining character Count 270) such is the economy of youtube text comments. =)
I think one of reasons why people find Zizek so engaging (besides his prose obv., and not umming and erring like Butler) is because he always seems to be thinking on his feet and engaging with the other speakers, rather than reeling off the theory they've worked out in their books...
i like those uh uhs! and i agree, zizek's tics are hard to cope with, better to watch this with the vision off. this feels like a really dumb comment to make in relation to what they were talking about but oh well.
I agree with you PeteUtonic, I find Butler extremely annoying to listen too. Why doesn't she just not say anything between phrases and stop trying to push herself, slow down Butler, think and then speak!
mourning, why we kill, the public, homo sacer, they didn't mention Agamben, gap of the person and the outside, closing the "gap"what we cannot control, but controls us, an homogenous "other" perils of collapse, opens a dissonance(Marx)and the latter from Freud.

People have already said this in many other forms, but just to simplify the message: Zizek is a fucking monster! I love this man.

what is Zizek saying to Butler in french, after mentioning the psychoses and foreclosing, where she would 'violently disagree'?
