@jsuglia i'm a fan, but i sort of agree with you there. but if you're talking about fight club or his earlier works like invisible monsters or survivor, i'd stop you right there and tell you read them because's they're rightly placed as 'good'. his latest books, however, are like parodies of his earlier work - it's like telling a good joke over and over again and it aint funny anymore. As for Suglia, i think he's only bitter cuz everybody mistakes him for Palaniuk.

Next to Charles Bukowski.....Chuck Palahniuk is the best author of our generation. I love Bukowski. Ham on Rye and Women are the 2 best books I have ever read. But Fight Club, Choke, Diary and Lullaby are very very close 2nd's and so on. Actually I can;t say Bukowski is my favorite, at least not my only favorite.....Both Bukowski and Palahniuk together would have to be my favorite authors. They are just genius'

I just finished "Invisible Monsters", now before you judge me - don't forget this is the second Chuck Palahniuk book I've read (the first being "Choke" which I loved); but "Invisible Monsters" ranks to be the most unbearably and horrifically grotesque, deeply and bitterly repulsive book I've ever read. But I had to finish it, primarily because I initially stopped halfway, because I found it too intolerable - but again apparently not.
