Guns n Roses individually are alright. Slash is a great guitarist, izzy delivers the blues, duff (and early axl)add the punk... put all that together and they are musical geniuses. It was pure magic. Add drugs, disfunctional creative geniuses, egos... an it was always a train wreck people were watching playing out before their eyes. It was not a matter of 'if', it was a matter of "when".

In my opinion, Axl, Slash and Izzy were the backbone of GNR, if one of them is missing, it is no longer GNR.

As for Slash making a bad choice...Izzy left, Axl fired Steven and Gilby and drove Matt, Duff and Slash away. Slash hung in there until the very end and was the last one to leave in 1996.

Axl + Slash = best singer-guitar duo ever to exist and the driving force behind GNR.
