  • @Welliscah The person was honest and their feelings are nothing new not something specific to "modern times", nothing more than an ingrained psyche that is part of existence. The worlds oldest proffesion isn't baking cakes afterall :)

  • Interestingly, the 5 - 10 thousand year old Chinese word for "Love" is the characters Mother and Child together.

  • @itsanameisntit Opps! That should be "Woman" and "Child".

  • Cult?? Why is the origins of all religions considered a cult? Nobody calls christianity or judaism a cult yet they wouldn't be around if it wasn't for these "cults" Right time, right place and it's considered a religion. Wrong time and/or wrong place and it's considered a cult.

  • lol 3:33! In no way can that not produce laughter.

  • BONER

  • Boobies!!!

  • @soddex

I disagree. An absence of any theological consideration (i.e atheism) predates all religious thinking.

  • @TADahar So that contradicts Soddex in what way?

  • @NeverAloneForever

It contradicts Soddex in exactly the manner of what was stated in my previous comment. I'll pre-empt you, even if I cannot furnish archaeological evidence that atheism (ie the lack of belief in a god) predates any kind of religious belief, the finding of a snake sculpture doesn't automatically make animism the oldest religion in the world. Religious thought doesn't come out of a vacuum. It arises out of a need to explain phenomena. So before the explanation, there was none.

  • @NeverAloneForever

So, if before the explanation there was no explanation, a lack of belief in the supernatural only naturally predates any belief in one.

  • @TADahar Obviously! That's a no-brainer. I just didn't see that as contradicting what Soddex stated as the first religion. Now you did just explain how he's wrong which leaves me fulfilled. The Snake sculpture isn't necessarily a sign of a religion. Is that what you meant?

Since atheism isn't a religion I can only assume that for now.

  • @NeverAloneForever

    I'll make my position explicit:

    1. A snake scultpture, no matter how old, doesn't prove that animism is oldest religion

    2. All religious thought are attempts to explain natural phenomena.

    3. An explanation always comes after the lack of one

    4. A lack of explanation or the lack of effort to produce one is concurrent with not thinking about god at all

  • @TADahar

    1. Yes, I know.

    2. Not necessarily. They do stem from that but it can also be an attempt to control a population.

    3. Yeah . . .

    4. Duhhhh

  • i clicked this because i saw titties, nothing more to it.

They destroyed so much of her and renamed and almost all of the living symbols of her.. it is up to us to decode, keep our 3rd eye open, and look beyond the surface of things. You will find she has no age she is timeless and every lasting, in everything, and every thing is in here.........

  • Kubaba = Kaaba = Black Stone = Magna Mater

Google image search black stone.. IT'S A GIANT VAGINA!! Pilgrims are kissing Magna Mater's Vagina. LOL!

Image search Our Lady of Guadelupe = enclosed in another GIANT VAGINA!

  • how are you allowed to show that at 3:47???

  • @banamina breast feeding allowed on youtube

  • @banamina yea if it's "educational" there are also vaginal exams on youtube

  • @banamina cuz its not sexual idiot

  • Yah, Celtic Wiccan is simply Cybele worship too. Might as well be a Catholic in my view... well not quite. You ARE worshiping the same god but you are not supporting the atrocities of the RCC mega-organization.

Bible Believing Christianity does not hale back to child abuse/sacrifice. There have been errant Christian heretics sects that have committed these atrocities down through history, but the founders of Christianity have no record of this.

    Celtic Wiccans = Goddess worship

  • @loggerbuck

Seems like child abuse was pretty universe back in those days, though Christianity does seem to coincide with an evolution from infanticide to child abandoning.

  • I apologize... it was in botswana, not namibia, look it up for yourselves.

  • Cybele worship was the foundation of the Roman church. Human sacrifice.... CHILD sacrifice was a mainstay of the worship of the Magna Mater. Men could join this cult by self mutilation... that is... cutting off their penis during a frenzied worship orgy. They deeply cut out the root of their penis forming an indentation or.... a VAGINA. After they healed these stupid men would cut themselves periodically to create a menstrual period!?!

    Yah, folks... let's worship Cybele!!!????

  • @loggerbuck shut up

  • Way to take everything out of context. First of all, human sacrifice was not part of Cybele's cult, much less the sacrifice of children. It was in fact illegal in Ancient Rome to practice human sacrifice. Men did cut off their genitals, but it was more to ensure celibacy than to "make a vagina" as you so crudely put it. The "orgy" was to make the earth fertile, not just frenzied drunken fucking. It was strange, no disagreeing with that, but it all had a purpose.

  • @HoundofOdin Nothing to debate. You are a liar pushing a cult.

For the sake of others: Magna Mater came to Rome from Pergumus around 200BC and followers practiced child sacrifice banned 100AD. They cont'd secret child sacrifice till 150AD when it was outlawed. Around 200AD they brought it back and sacrificed more frequently... EVERY MASS, ending later in the 4th century.

Magna mater enjoyed centuries of worship in "Turkey" prior to 200BC,including child sacrifice, and surgical transexuals.

  • A cult? Dude, I don't worshipt Cybele. I just know history and have an open mind. I don't plan on cutting my balls off unless I get testicular cancer. Human sacrifice was repulsive to the Romans, Caesar himself speaking of Celtic human sacrifice with revultion. Yes, Cybele was imported, but was quickly "Romanized" to exclude human and child sacrifice.

  • @HoundofOdin Oh, sorry.. glad you're not going to cut off your penis..I'm getting kinda old but it still comes in handy now and then. The Romans WERE shocked at the Cybele worshipers and made them keep the madness behind closed doors. Outlawed child sacrifice around 100 AD but the Cybele priests snuck back into the Vatican catacombs via necropolis and carried on. 150 AD totally outlawed child sacrifice but was brought back worse than every at 200 AD.

Good choice there bloke..keeping the penis!

  • I really hope you are aware that the Vatican didn't exist in the particular time period we are discussing.

  • @HoundofOdin Vatican Hill existed when Magna Mater came to Rome 200 BC!

The Vatican Cybele Temple was built and used until the 1500s; around 300 AD it converted to "Christian" worship. Vatican does not = Catholic. The black cone shaped rock, Magna Mater, cont'd in the Vatican until about 600 AD... or about the time the Mecca Black Stone popped up. Some believe it was broken in moving and PART of the Magna Mater is the Kaaba black vagina stone. Other pieces at other sites.

  • Still, I would take the worship of Cybele over any form of Christianity. They just cut off their genitals, and it was only the priests who did that. Christian leaders killed off a big portion of the European population during the conversion because they didn't want anything to do with it, and then when all the "dirty Heathens" were gone, they went and slaughtered innocent people in the Middle East during the Crusades. Cybele's worshippers didn't do anything like that.

  • @HoundofOdin UUHHHHH, the Christians you speak of were mostly Catholics. I just explained that the RCC is simply the Cybele cult with some Jesus jargon. Yet you prefer them over Christianity?! I'll admit the Martin Luther stood by while his cohorts threw Bible Believing Christians down holes in the river ice.... but he was just a reformed Catholic IE reformed Cybele cult.

Dude make it real simple, just become a Catholic. They're conveniently located.

  • Catholicism is evil. I would slap the Pope if I ever met him. I follow my native Celtic religion now. Christianity is a disease, like an AIDS of the soul, as far as I am concerned, and it needs are cure even more than the biological AIDS does.

  • @loggerbuck Why not try better research? Cybele was an "imported" Goddess to the Romans (as so many were.) Devotes ritually castrated themseves as a part of ecstatic worship. I have never heard of any child sacrifices - if you have, please tell me your sources so I can research this. Magna Mater was perhaps occasionally conflated or associated with Cybele, but Her worship was generally undertaken by women. Men were barred from this.

  • @ArianneWeaver MEN ALLOWED

1 MAN WHO DEVOTED HIMSELF 24 HOURS A DAY TO WORSHIP

2 DESIRABLE MAN WHO COULD HAVE ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING HE WANTED FOR ONE YEAR... THEN WAS SACRIFICED TO CYBELE.

    3. MEN WHO CASTRATED THEMSELVES SO COMPLETELY THEY WALLOWED OUT VAGINAS. THEY STABBED THEIR "SURGICAL VAGINAS PERIODICALLY TO MIMIC MENSTRUATION.

  • @loggerbuck reply wasn't sufficiently clear. the worship of MAGNA MATER ( Roman goddess) was for women only. The imported Cybele cult included some ritual castration, usually as men were overcome with religious frenzy at processions in her honour - they then usually became priests.

I repeat - where is your evidence for the conflation of the two cults, and for child sacrifice (online or printed - either is acceptable.) As a student of these cults, you will have researched it well - won't you?

  • How could any human deny the logic of the Pagans worshiping the fertility of humankind? Snakes?!?? Are you kidding me, bassree..?? To "worship" something is to lend it karma and God-speed to its continuation.

Ever since the "enlightenment" of man, MEN have oppressed and suppressed and denied women their rightful place during the course to our "modern existence".

Ancient arts hint at not only the lessons we could learn from antiquity, but shines a light on our deficiencies.

  • @koontakentaylor snakes is a symbol for father god in my opinion

  • @koontakentaylor Look it up for yourself, oldest known religion in south africa namibia look it up.

  • @koontakentaylor Yah, the beauty of Christianity is that THERE IS NO KARMA!

Maybe I'm predjudiced by it but know I'm dead meat if I get Karma.

I'll take Mercy, Unmerited favor, Sonship.

I can ID with NO GOOD THING IN ME (Paul)... yet being of infinite value because of the love and Sacrifice of the God OF ALL CREATION.

  • the oldest religion on earth is snake worship, or more specifically python worship, south afrika/namibia 70,000

    years ago.

  • @bassreeves1965 what is your proof on this? where is the reference?

  • all women are evil and out to get us into submission! women clearly have to be enslaved for their own good.

  • cave men were chubby chasers

  • @titandriver1960 you wanna know why : i'll tell ya why they liked thick women ment they wer healthy they ate good and they were cabable of bringing big healthy babbies in to the world thats why :)

  • @CandyAngel1803 I like thick women cause they make my penis hard.not becuase of the mother goddess, nor... they are a symbol of this or of that.

  • Ugh! Please stop showing the milk caught by the man from the breast. That's disturbing.

  • Magna Mater is Latin for "Great Mother:" The cult of the Great Mother was extant long before Roma was founded. However,as the the Roman Empire expanded ,many people of different ethnicities adopted Latin as a second language. A Celt in Britain who was a Roman subject would not understand the Aramaic term for "Great Mother" used by a Jew who was a Roman subject in Judaea and vice-versa, but they both would understand "Magna Mater."

  • A most eloquent video.

    5++++++++++

  • Hey, does anyone know the music this is set to? inquring minds want to know!!

  • It's the Prelude of "Traviata" an opera by Giuseppe Verdi

    =)

  • A great, great, great and beautiful video. I love it !!!

Very good work - 5 ***** for you my friend.

  • ok theres a problem here magna mater refers to a greek and roman cult and none of the later statues in the video have anything to do with them and it certainly isnt the oldest religion on earth

  • Kybele and Magna Mater are indeed the names the greeks and romans gave her, but the cult is much older than that.

In Turkey statues of a "fertility goddess" named Kubaba, dating from the first millenium BC, have been found. They show much similarities with the 6000BC statue of the woman giving birth, so we can suppose that it is the same cult.

  • find a historian who agrees with you

  • Ask any historian specialising in Antiquity, they'll all agree with it.

  • please would you say what the oldest religion on earth is. And explain why reverence for the mother in cultures more recent than the Romans and the Greeks can't be considered to stem from the same fundamental tendency in human nature - to revere mothers and motherhood. Explain that, please.

  • I am not making the claim that I know what the oldest religion on earth is but I can without a doubt tell you it isnt the same religion as this roman cult if you have evidence that it is please show it.
