  • do you have to use a leave in conditioner?

  • can you use ordinary conditioner or does it have to be a leave in one?

  • Can this work for eyeshadow brushes? like the triangle shaped ones?

  • do u have to use achohal or is that just so it dries faster?

  • rubbing alohol? or just regular?

  • this really helped me thanx!

  • @RohiniGanga Thank you so much means the world to me!

  • It was a nice video, thank you!

I make my own cosmetics/soaps, and they always suggest using purified water (you can get it in a drug store, they use it in hospital to rinse medical tools...etc.), because tap water or filtered water contains bacteria and impurities. If made with tap water you will most likely to have the solution that will grow mold sooner than using purified water that is clean of any bacteria or impurities.

  • this is very helpful .. thank you!! ;*

  • nice work! :) thank you

  • Can I use regular conditioner instead of leave-in?

    And tap water?

  • That's 1 cup not half a cup. GET IT RIGHT. stupid

  • can i just use a water?

  • So im confused...can i use regular water? plzzz help me :D

  • This is really helpful, and the only ingredient I don't have access to is the alcohol... mostly because I'm a teenager... underage.

  • when you say alcohol do you mean vodka?

  • @MizzLizzieDizzie I think she meant rubbing alcohol..Idk

  • can you just have water? or does it have to be distiled :/

  • where did u get the bottles from?

  • It seems 1 cup of water for me...

  • would shampoo dishwashing liquid and water work??

  • why do you need leave in conditionor

  • @TheTroublesgirl It makes the brushes softer! :)

  • @miab40000 thanks i dont have leavin but i used regular conditioner but it shoudnt matter my younger sister spilled all of it out on the floor

  • for the shampoo did you use baby shampoo or adult shampoo?

  • @TheBeautyliciouss baby shampoo! :)

  • THANK YOU! I love it. I had the wrong kind of conditioner, but I used it anyway and it worked!

    Thanks so much!

  • can you use tap water instead of distilled water?

  • This is awesome!! i have all this stuff but like my leave in conditioner and dish soap are scented. is that a problem? should i buy uncented?

  • People are so stupid!!! All these products should be in your house!!!

  • it really works!!

  • why does it need to be distilled water?

  • @hckim1216 Its cleaner, you can use a disposable, unopened water bottle. :)

  • should ur solution smell like alcohol? will my brushes smell like that afterward??

  • Is it ok if i use purified water instead of distilled???

And can i use my TLC hair conditioner from sunslik???

Thanks so much i've been just using hair shampoo, conditioner n water to

    clean my brushes.....=]

  • @sKUNKSmCgEE you could use also use eye makeup remover..

  • Wow! You are awesome! You teach so good! Hope you become a partner because you deserve it more then these phony guru's on here!

  • does it have to be leave in conditioner or can it be regular

  • does anyone no how to make brush cleaner without using rubbing alcohol

  • @Makeupforever12 u could use some antibacterial gel or liquid form, that does the same and is much easier to find. Plus, where i live u can't bye pure alcohol(or even something close to that)

  • @itsStephanie93 you can buy alcohol everywhere in the world... just at the pharmacy...

  • Do you have to use baby shampoo

  • do you have to use alcohol?

  • @pinkrox3006 yes

  • could you used regular boiled water instead of distilled?

  • my brushes dry really quickly it takes 7 min or even less with this solution and you don't really need conditioner I did mine without and it works just as well...

  • instead of leaving my brushes to dry on a towel, can I blowdry them?

  • @dynamicdancer09 Yes you can but doing that a lot can be a little harsh to your brushes if done a lot .

  • @dynamicdancer09 I wouldn't recommend doing that. It can melt the glue in the handle and ruin the shape of the bristles.

  • Because cleansing takes five to ten minutes to dry, washing them with shampoo and conditioner takes hours.

I know Mac brush cleanser only takes five minutes to dry, so you can use the brush right after you clean it to avoid spreading bacteria.

Depending on how you use it, you could use it for deep cleaning or spot cleaning, as said in the comments below.

  • @hebesROCKS Really? all this stuff should already be in your home?

  • @candiecc can you use plain tap water?

  • i love this video! it's very professional and informative. keep up the good work!

  • @hebesROCKS i hope you are joking.

  • Can you use regular creamy leave in conditioner, or does it have to be liquid?

  • @obesepenguinsYEES has to be spray or liquid

  • thank you for this

  • so is she deep cleaning them because i thought that brush cleanser was just for spot cleaning and then you could just use baby shampoo for deep cleaning...... im confused :(

  • you can use brush cleanser for either spot cleaning or deep cleaning depending on how you use it.

  • you are a good teacher. Thank you . I also like the way you show step by step and explain what you are doing.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

    u r gr8 at sayin SHAMPOO!!!!

  • what type of water do you have to use ?

    :)

  • i'm a lil new to wearing make up. How oftem do you clean the brushes? Is this after every color? some of my colors I use sponges because I use those colors often. so they don't mix

  • Hi, I was wandering the same thing so I just went through the comments.

JenniferBlogs says - you should deep clean them atleast once a week or two weeks. but you can use a brush cleanser after each use if you want to because the cleanser dries quickly

candiecc says - I do clean any brush that has a liquid applied to it after each application:) other than that depending on use:)

    HTH

  • OMG I LOVE THIS THANKS FOR GOING STEP BY STEP i also loved how u showed us how to clean your brushes!!

  • Thank you so much im glad you enjoyed it!

  • there is a easyer way to clean prushed wet your brush then put some shampoo in the palm of your hand then wet the shampoo a little the move the brush around in the shampoo when you have dont that rinse it then dry it with a hair dryer

  • could you this on nail art brushes?

  • No you can't I don't think that will work:(

  • do you have to use leave in conditioner? just regular is fine right?

  • You should stick with the leave in:)

  • If i replaced the alchohol with nail polish remover would it atill work?

  • OMG!!!!NO NO NO!! PLEASE DON'T DO THAT!!! Please only use what's in the video okay:)

  • LOL, that was a funny question. LOL

  • thanks for the tip. it really helped that you showed how to use it also. This is probably better quality than store bought cleaners

  • Thank you!

  • Can I use an expensive conditioner rather than leave-in?

  • Yes you can:)

  • what kind of alcohol what percent or what i dont get it

  • Hi alexawuzhere99 at the end of the video it shows you the alcohol content! it's 91%

  • Hasnt enkore already done this. I dont see the point in making the same video.

  • It was requested by my viewers:)

  • I find this one more easy to follow.

  • Where can i get alcohol in Singapore?

  • isn't dishwashing liquid skin irritant? mine is. i really want to do this so can someone plz respond.

  • wouldn't shampoo & conditioner and hotwater do the trick

  • where did u get the little cute containers?

  • Walgreens and the dollar store.

  • this is an awesome tutorial!

  • is it ok to use normal water?

  • this was so helpful! thank you! :)

  • u sound so pro........its awesome

  • Thank you that was sweet!

  • I tried it. It really works. But, i have to put a lot of the solution on my brushes to get them really clean. Do you think i have to put more of something?

Sory for the bad english, im argentinian. :S

  • It's funny that moonstone620 had too much shampoo and i think you need a little more:) I would try a little more shampoo:) hope this helps

  • It's OVER NIIINEEE THOUSAAAAANNND!!!

  • Hi, nice tutorial. I tried this and it really gets the brushes clean, but I feel like they are a tad soapy. Like when you don't wash all of the soap out of your hair. They are still drying. What is your experience? Did I maybe use too much soap?

  • Yes maybe you should try pulling back on your shampoo a little, or just rinse them well! Thank you for your comment .

  • i can't stand watching this ur sooooooo NEATT!!!

i'm likee the messyest child u could ever meet!! lol

  • omygosh thank you now i can actually clean my brushes. nice video

  • ok i have a question. i have large brushes like 2" in lenth. so can i still use this solution??

  • Is this safe to use on all brushes?

  • I love Encore too, but he forgot to show how to use it! Thanks a bunch for adding that.

  • do we have to use baby shampoo? or can we use regular shampoo cuz i dont have any baby shAMPOO SO YAA!!! OH AND THANKS!!

  • excellent video. very helpful. You are a good teacher.

  • Thank you sooo much for this video! It's really helped me out, my brushes were so overdure for a cleaning and this really got the stubborn foundation etc out without wasting money on a solution.

Though I have a question, for the more loosely packed brushes like for powder etc, what do you do when drying to avoid the bristles clumping up and drying that way?

    Thanks!

  • Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel:) the conditioner should help with the drying but I use this product called Brush Shaper which is a Brush restoration, try this I got it from Micheal craft store in the paint department! Hope this helps:)

  • This is so helpful. Thank you! Plus, your voice is just gorgeous!

  • OMG thanks I'm 12 and this was realy simple to me..I do realy nice designs now with the brsh because my colors don't mix anymore

  • When using your brushes on someone else I would! but no if your using them on yourself:) I do clean any brush that has a liquid applied to it after each application:) other than that depending on use:) Thank you for the comment!

  • Im really not a make up person....but I do have some brushes that are well overdue for a cleaning...Im going to the dollar store right after work and purchase the items...I assume any spray leave in, shampoo will do?....but I did write what you used too!... thanks for your video

  • I just use Baby Shampoo also it has worked for me alot of times....My Brushes look great after a nice little wash..

  • Hi there,

I think you meant to say 1 cup instead of 1/2 cup of water. You added one cup to the mix and also Enkore's recipe takes one cup :)

    Hugs,

    Hilary

  • Thank you girl:)

  • thats so good

but what would you do if you had a big brush

a face brush or a blush brush

would you do the same ?

    bye

  • Yes you can!

  • oh okay good

    haha

  • you arent suppose to swish it around in the solution, only dip it.. bc now ur solution is dirty and contaminated and u dip the brushes into the dirty water.. know what i mean? You arent really sanitizing them

  • Well in turn this may be true but that's why you should rince each brush and the alcohol should help this as well:)

  • when u put ur brushes in the water make sure only the bristles get into it not any deeper because the bristles will seperate from the handle

  • this helped SOOO much! your vid was really professional looking too:)

  • hey i wanna do this but

  • how often should you clean ur brushes?

  • you should deep clean them atleast once a week or two weeks. but you can use a brush cleanser after each use if you want to because the cleanser dries quickly

  • does it really have to be baby shampoo? or will like a mild shampoo like pantein work?

  • oh god i need this so bad thanks so much

  • Hi there !! This was one of the more informative cosmetic tutorials on here. Thanks for the info !!!

  • Oh wow I never thought you can make brush cleaner, now I know. I had been using soap and water which I think had damage one of my powder brushes because its bristles sheds. This want make the brushes shed will it? I'm gone to make this, thanks girl.

  • I just use baby shampoo on my Smashbox brushes and never had a problem, the trick is to drop a bit of shampoo in the palm of your hand and work it in to the brush then rinse under a running tap never letting the water run into the metal casing then squeeze and dry flat.

  • where do you get those little containers??

  • Walgreens and the dollar store.

  • i have a question, after using this solution, cuz all i use is mac brush cleaner, due to the bristles dry quickly, and then to deep clean i use baby shampoo and running water, so anyway my ?? is does this solution work like mac or does it take hours for the bristles to dry??? please hit me up asap thanx girlllll..

  • 1 question : Do you think one should clean brand new brushes before use?

  • you dont have too? but its always good to clean anything before you use it:)

  • you dont have too? but its always good to clean anything before you use it:)

  • Is it 1/2 cup of distilled water or 1 cup? Because I believe you said 1/2 cup, but put in 1 cup...or maybe Im imagining things lol. Also what would be the reason for the baby shampoo? Because its gentle on eyes? Because it is really harsh on hair =/

  • Then its okay to use any shampoo that work with you skin type:)
