Nobody took her 1st amendment rights. That's nonsense. She was not convicted by law or by any legislative authority. There is a code of morality and of decorum by which, in our society, people (especially public figures like Dr. Laura) are expected to abide. If that code is broken, society has the right (and, some argue, the responsibility) to retaliate. It has nothing to do with her constitutional rights. It has to do with taste and class, two things she clearly threw out the window.

Remember in mathematics when there was an unknown variable or you needed a symbol to represent an infinite number of possibilities? The variable usually used was "n". If you listen to the recording, and watch the later interviews, you will find out that "Jade" did not say anyone was making racist jokes. She said her husband's friends made references to race, asking questions because they were curious. This is why whites are so afraid of making any reference at all about race to an African American. Normally, I find her irritating, but I happen to think she did nothing wrong here. The caller was the one that clearly incited this. God forbid Dr Laura make a logical comment. What a freakin' joke.
All she did a make a factual statement. That can't be denied.

Dr Laura has done excellent work in guiding people where it is sorely needed. Especially today where there is no moral compass. Anyone who has actually listened to the talk show in question will understand the point she was making. Not a drop of bigotry or hatred. It was an intellectual discussion. Nonetheless, she apologized almost immediately. Yet there are those who would still spew hatred directed at her. I find it sad that a lady who has done so much good is being treated this way.

She does have a license in California to do couples counseling, but in that state her license would be revoked if she advertised herself as a "doctor". She got her "platform" by fucking some married radio talk show host back in the swinging 70's, ironically. She's a radio personality and nothing more; academic credentials didn't get her on the air. The woman has always been full of it.

Ridiculous. She may understand something about psychology, but nothing about the law. Only the government can violate one's First Amendment rights, not private citizens. No one, especially the government, told her she couldn't express her view on race. Private citizens merely voiced strong opposition to her views.
