great video nice close up shot....the .22 lr stinger travels @ 1640fps it is the best in 22lr as far as mainsteam 22lr ammo goes another fact is that 22lr is the most effective use of gun powder in ammo

Stingers will tear yo up nasty. I wouldn't want to get shot with one, or any .22 round for that matter. .22 may be small but its nothing to sneeze at. As far as "stopping power" having no science to it i disagree. The 1986 Platt shooting was cited, that was 24 years ago. Defensive and Law Enforcement ammo has come a long way since then. Google/youtube Speer Gold Dot, Hornady Critical Defense, Winchester PDX1, Ranger T series, Federal Hydra-Shok. Any one of there would have put Platt down.

I hate to break it to people, but "stopping power" is not a science. Read up on the 1986 Miami FBI shootout. One of the bad guys in that incident, Michael Platt, was shot 12 times with .38, .357, 9mm and recieved a shotgun blast to the legs and still didn't go down. He killed two FBI agents and seriously wounded a few others. He did eventually die from those wounds, but as you see,  he continued to fight. Stopping power isn't a science.

It's when what you're shooting either loses forward momentum or just falls backward. Like hitting a charging bull with a .50 it will slow down. That is "stopping power"

Nobody should laugh at .22lr, especially if it's being fired from a rifle. People that call them "pea shooters" etc. usually don't have any knowledge of firearms except what they see in some xbox war game. It's a small caliber for sure, but it's still deadly. President Reagan came very close to dying from .22lr ricochet being fired from a snub nose revolver. If that .22lr round had been fired from a rifle, he would have been killed no doubt. Ditto Brady who got shot in the head and is crippled.

Everything from a .22 to a .45, really just are small rocks with gunpowder ignited behind them and these small rocks fling out of tubes at relativeley high speed, enough to go through a person. no gun is a toy. I wouldn't want to be shot with a Stinger, but I would really not lke to be shot with a 9mm, 38, 357, .40 .45 etc. A .22 can kill, but a centerfire bullet can kill faster. For defence, it's all about killing or stopping the attacker as fast as possible. If all you have is a .22 then use it if you need to but it's not the best defence round.
