  • Does a 3800 from a 1999 camaro fit my GT fiero 87 with out any big issues?? Check out my fiero on my channel.. thanx.

  • Looks good!

  • I am currently working on my DeLorean. Love your exhaust sound! I would love to put one of these engines in my Delorean! Especially the (L32) Series III Supercharged engine! What kind of transmission you got on it? I know it os manual, but what is the code or style transmssion? I want to look them up!

    Thanks!!

  • @batt4u I wish I could remember what was printed on the tag, I think it is a 4 speed Muncie M17. In my collection I am only missing the 4 cylinder econo transmission :)

  • @zcomputerwiz BTW what exhaust system you have on it?? Thanks!

  • yeah actualy i would be looking at keep the auto trans obviously i wouldnt need to reprogram the pcm but i wiuld still have to wire the harnesses together correct? and i herd u would need to coustom make one axel that true? and how would that run do ya think?

  • @spartanzz1 You can get a replacement axle that will work from several enthusiast web sites. The PCM will still require reprogramming to remove traction control codes, if the donor car had it, and to output the correct number of pulses per mile for the spedometer. You will still need to wire the harnesses together :) I really like the Buick automatic transmissions, they get great mileage and shift so smooth.

  • Im looking at getting my hand on a fiero and putting my GTP's engine in it. You say you just use the stock wire harness for it? I am gunna try to do it for a little money as possible and iv herd many mixed things about just about everything for the swap.

  • @spartanzz1 Yes, I used the stock wiring harnesses from both vehicles and then tie them together. You will need a connector pinout and wiring diagram for both vehicles, finding one for the Fiero should be easy. You will need to get the 3800 computer reprogrammed, I sent to gmtuners aka Sinister Performance for a little more than $80. Front motor mount from West Coast Fiero is about $55. Also need a flywheel for 3800 Camaro and machine it down, how much depends on transmission. Ask more ?s :)

  • "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON" = " IT SHOULDN'T BE "

  • @NorseCreation It was a bad throttle position sensor. Replaced and no more CEL.

  • @zcomputerwiz My last car was an 86 Fiero w/v6, my next car will be a Fiero, I'd like to do the engine swap also ! I love these cars !

  • I totally want a Fiero with the new GM 3.6 v6s!

  • hey, im working on doing my first L67 swap into a fiero. do you know if you can use the harness and brain box for the 3800? you say that your wiring is a test, was it because your engine didnt come with or wouldnt work in the swap?

  • @dickiebill It was a 'test' because I hadn't cleaned up the unneccessary wires, soldered it, or put it in wire loom. Just wanted to verify that everything was in place and it would start :)

I used the complete wiring harness and the computer (ECM) from the 3800. I did need to get it reprogrammed. I had a company GM Tuners aka Sinister Performance do the ECM reprogramming.

  • @zcomputerwiz awesome! thank you sir!

  • i want to see a supercharged buick reatta!

  • how much heavier is the 3800 ?

my 2m6 fiero was soo back heavy..

I nailed it at a stop sign going left and the front wheels left the ground and i ran into the curb across the street.

back heavy sucks when you have no steering..

    just be careful.

  • @greenrolaids The series 2 3800 actually weighs less than the stock 2.8 setup! We also pulled the A/C and other components, so that helps.

  • Oh man! did the block survive?

  • @macg5srock No it didn't : ( There was a hole and the bottom half off of one side of the block cracked off!

  • It just threw a connecting rod today! I don't mean knocking, I mean a literal snapped connecting rod.

I have NEVER seen or heard of such a thing in a 3800!

This engine was a $100 salvage though, had Dexcool in the oil pan when we got it. Back to the engine stand... again.
