This is a very powerful and timely message. I thank you for posting it. However, we must not make "our journey" the "standard" as others have been successful at doing in this present society. We must allow others to freely go their course. It will take "having wealth" for many people to "know themselves" - it too can be a good teacher.
Hey Josh! I just found this video of yours and I was amazed! I am that girl who stopped you in Arizona at the Red Rock Canyon and asked you to talk about Self Love. I'm still on my Journey, still lost, and still trying to begin my blog but hopefully it will come up soon! I'll make sure to keep you updated. Hope you are doing well and loving yourself! Namaste :)
@caitlinvarner I was hoping I would hear from you. Enjoy the journey, remember you are where you need to be and there is no accidents, and most importantly, remember as long as you love yourself, you will never be lost..
Living in poverty can inhibit a person from garnering important experiences in life. The more money these "teacher's" have, the more they can get their messages out and help people. Some of these trinkets are silly for sure... but some can aid a person to become more aware. ie. the theta metronome. Capitol can be cyclic. We buy a trinket to help ourselves, they get the money, they then use that money to get their teachings out to others. It's just the system we're forced to use at the moment.
Crowley, if he was ever consistent with anything, was his ire for commercialized dogma. Props to you for this video (finally one that one may be proud of).
Philosophy does two things well, the first is bring a rich man down to poverty, and second elevate the poor to richness.
It is the very mind itself that leads the mind astray; Of that mind, Do not be unmindful.
It's very powerful when you get to the point of being content to be alone, by yourself. If you are happy with yourself, it's much easier to get along with others also, since you care not so much about changing them beyond helping them on their own path to happiness. It works the other way too, people don't generally like being around someone who dislikes themselves. As for the poverty thing, I think it's more a learning to be content with whatever, rich or poor. Poor is easier.
I really get what you are saying. All of those who say they are enligthened need to live up to what they are saying. On my path I have become my own best friend. Once we get there we can give to others.
if all was enlightened there would be no poverty since we'd all be one helping another. So why is poverty being associated with knowing of things greater than self. I think the universal truth is abundance and always having what you need at the moment needed.
You could define it as the difference between an Ego-based love and true Self-love, because the Ego really has nothing to do with the true Self (when it sees itself as the center and separate, when it's merely an appendage of it).

that is a big problem of today that people always look outside of themselves, even for love..

Abundance is a spiritual principle, not a thing.
