@EGX500 the American Soldier album was in support of the troops. They even went over there to play for the soldiers. Queensryche's early albums were very much liberal, but their more recent albums seem to be more right-winged. Which seems to be the case when people grow older.

In all fairness I don't think this is any better/worse than what they've been giving us for the last 10 years or so... I think my biggest issue with these albums is how Tate's voice sounds. The production can't or fails to hide the strain in his voice.

since ive posted my previous comment, ive purchased the CD and listened to it enough so that its not 'new' to me anymore...and i think its very good. there are moments when i think they shoulda laid it on thick, and did not do so, but i like the CD. they were not going for the concepts of "mindcrime" and "warning". oh, and "wot we do"? does anyone else see this as another statement on society - something QRs done well all along?
I've been a fan since the beginning. For me this song is classic QR. I also like Retail Therapy....another classic. What is cool about QR is that on EVERY album they put out you will find at least 1 or 2 really kick ass songs.
@rovdog That's exactly the problem with DtC, there are a couple of decent tracks, where once upon a time, Queensryche delivered full length kickass albums. I'm old enough to be someone who listens to albums, rather than picking off one decent song from iTunes...and dedicated to chaos is an iTunes record.

@jas22 There is a difference between evolving and regressing. QR has not been able to keep up with the high expectations they set for the band years ago. M Wilton did not write anything on this album and has stated how he feels about it. So QR is now composed of a bunch of outside writers (look at the credits), fill in guitarists who don't write and one original member who obviously isn't happy. This is not QR, it is a Geoff Tate album! If you like it fine but call it what it is!

This song is more like it . Feels like the sort of progression you`d expect. The rest of the album certainly is something different but about as commercial easy listening rock an roll as you can get. So far best song on this album. It's actually decent, but ryche is done, man. I knew it from American Soldier. Tate's voice ain't the same at all. These guys just need to stop. Well, we can't say that tis is a good album, musically. But is a great creation in the angle of the lyrics. Is a band that is making old in an honest way, without youngster complex. I think that release an album that is hated by the most is thousand times best to release a recopilatory one. It shows that the band is a group of musicians, with other mentality (really different to the 70's), but not a shadow of themselves. Sorry for the grammar...

After listening through all the songs on this album, I conclude that this must be Tate & Co's most musical record since Promised Land (which happens to be my favorite record by them). Maybea that's because I'm not a metal guy? I can se why those who love 80's metal HATE this record.

After repeated listenings I'd go with excellent as a descriptive. I love the waxing and waning of intensity throughout this and other tracks on the album.
QR has the most diverse catalog of material I think I've ever come across. Each album is different than those that came before it.

In all fairness I don't think this is any better/worse than what they've been giving us for the last 10 years or so... I think my biggest issue with these albums is how Tate's voice sounds. The production can't or fails to hide the strain in his voice.

since ive posted my previous comment, ive purchased the CD and listened to it enough so that its not 'new' to me anymore...and i think its very good. there are moments when i think they shoulda laid it on thick, and did not do so, but i like the CD. they were not going for the concepts of "mindcrime" and "warning". oh, and "wot we do"? does anyone else see this as another statement on society - something QRs done well all along?

I've been a fan since the beginning. For me this song is classic QR. I also like Retail Therapy....another classic. What is cool about QR is that on EVERY album they put out you will find at least 1 or 2 really kick ass songs.

imagine if this album were from 1986, and "Rage" was the current one released in 2011. the same detractors would be saying that "Rage" was junk. they dont realize that over time, they just wanna hear different versions of the same old thing. ok, then go listen to ACDC or Joan Jett. @jas22 There is a difference between evolving and regressing. QR has not been able to keep up with the high expectations they set for the band years ago. M Wilton did not write anything on this album and has stated how he feels about it. So QR is now composed of a bunch of outside writers (look at the credits), fill in guitarists who don't write and one original member who obviously isn't happy. This is not QR, it is a Geoff Tate album! If you like it fine but call it what it is!

So far best song on this album. It's actually decent, but ryche is done, man. I knew it from American Soldier. Tate's voice ain't the same at all. These guys just need to stop. Too many problems within the band causing THIS crap to happen. I've listened to a few other tracks on here afraid to actually purchase the album. Good thing I didn't. Well, we can't say that tis is a good album, musically. But is a great creation in the angle of the lyrics. Is a band that is making old in an honest way, without youngster complex. I think that release an album that is hated by the most is thousand times best to release a recopilatory one. It shows that the band is a group of musicians, with other mentality (really different to the 70's), but not a shadow of themselves. Sorry for the grammar...

Alot of People Seem Not to Understand the Content Well Enough to Realize the Extreme Sarcasm Lac3ed through out the Whole CD.,,I Think It is the Most Stimulating Album since Promised Land, Personally.

After listening through all the songs on this album, I conclude that this must be Tate & Co's most musical record since Promised Land (which happens to be my favorite record by them). Maybea that's because I'm not a metal guy? I can se why those who love 80's metal HATE this record.

I really dig this tune. It's one of the heavier songs on DTC and that sax solo at the end jams. Ryche on!!

After repeated listenings I'd go with excellent as a descriptive. I love the waxing and waning of intensity throughout this and other tracks on the album.
QR has the most diverse catalog of material I think I've ever come across. Each album is different than those that came before it.
