  • THE BEST IS HERE PRICELESS

  • Top shelf baby...

  • Both my parents are jazz musicians, they introduced me to Al when I was about 6, from the first time I heard Spain I was astonished. He has been my hero for the last 11 years, I don't care that no one else my age listens to this music (real music). Al Jarreau is amazing and I'm so glad to be influenced by him.

  • @hmart47 Very well then- Welcome to the world of "real music", hmart47!

  • @caddxprt It's been a while, but thank you. :-)

  • Only Al Jarreau can make me enjoy the Sound of Music...

  • fun funtastic

    Tiki

    Galia's Hotel

    Metulla

    Israel

  • @TheTikimom10 Go Israel!

  • Love Al Jarreau &, even more, John Coltrane. Here, Jarreau sings original lyrics, but accompaniment is clearly rooted in way(s) that Coltrane played it (& a bit in Miles' "Kind of Blue"). Trane's recorded versions start w/ LP (now CD) "My Favorite Things" from 1960. That LP, along w/ "Kind of Blue," awoke in me, at 19, a love for jazz almost as great as my love for classical since age 2. Trane recorded "Favorite Things" many times; many are great. Now I got to get this Jarreau CD--if I can!

  • wow, this is a nat Cole way of singing

  • A glass of wine and Jarreau...perfect combination!

    Thanks for droppin' by bowdred.

  • listening while enjoying a glass of wine. al jarreau is super talented.

  • his voice sounds like johnny mathis' in this song, especially when stresses a word like mathis does in his songs.

  • So, one of the greatest jazz improvs takes one of the best songs ever and makes it better!!!! Wow! Al....go head!!!!!!!!

  • One of the better version. I like the original! But, I differently love Al's version! ahahahah, I tried to sing it! ahahah, He's the best! Had fun trying to keep up with him though!

Great human being he is too!

  • what album is this off?

  • @FTWWHM from the album "1965"

  • @FTWWHM

My Favorite Things is the name of the album

  • @FTWWHM I got that title, from a compilation of 1965 and Ain't No Sunshine, so I think "1965" is the actual album this was released on.

  • i like this and i like take five

  • God this is awesome!

  • He recorded this with Kathleen Battle (not sure of spelling). It's breathtaking. Can you post it please?

  • I used to have this album, and it's wonderful to find much of it on YouTube. I like most of Jarreau's stuff before he went largely pop, but don't think he's ever truly topped his work on "Al Jarreau 1965 --" his backup combo here is terrific as well --

  • My favorite version of this song.

  • Yes, this is the man I fell for in 1975 after hearing "We Got By" for the very first time.

    Simply perfection.

  • Just GREAT

  • The piano solo so was off the "heezee" like dancing on clouds.

    Super smooth.

  • I loved this version!

  • simply defies words, how charmingly free and enchanting this song is

  • genialne w kazdej wersji!
