  • Gervin would average 45ppg in todays era.

  • i stopped watching sports after he retired...

  • this is one of the best nba vids ive ever seen

    good job man

  • as a cavs fan, antawn jamison reminds me of him. not half as good tho

  • @987lololol lol so honest

  • 111 likes and 1 dislike haha

  • none of the recent players are as good as the oldies, they were always the best micheal jordan..scottie pippen... kareem abdule jabbar all the best

  • Geroge Gervin=Iceman!!

    Kevin Durant=Baby Ice!!

  • This is who Tracy McGrady reminds me of.

  • he reminds me of kevin durant for some reason

  • Loved the ending.

  • The Finger roll is one of the most elegant BBall moves in history and its becoming less and less common. ThE ICEMAN RULES

  • 1:34 is sick!

  • Great Video, awesome job!! I remixed your video cause ice is my man and gave u credit for the original video. Good work and yes I got to see the Iceman Play in the old Hemisfair arena and he was as good as advertised, will never forget those games!!!

  • how many?? :p

  • hubie brown looks so different

  • I remember him in Rome.I was a kid.His poster is still in my room. One day Tracer Milan played in Rome and i saw two legends in one.Bob McAdoo and George Gervin against each other.A little "slice"of NBA was in front of my eyes.

  • Damn the Ice Cube and Coors Light commercial! The coldest of them all were George "Ice Man" Gervin. As we say in the hood "He played a cold -ass game." That was George Gervin in his pro basketball career. Every night he played COLD (translated - "great"). Back in 1970s and 80s it was an honor to watch him play. Interestingly, we had a Michael Williams in our neighbor who could really play some cold B-Ball. Well, his name became "Ice Mike." Enough said.

  • 1:30 - 1:36...The Asshole Finger-roll...Take That!!! HA!!!

  • if i had the choice between "dunking like vince carter" and "finger roll" like the Ice Man, i would choose the finger roll like gervin!

hmm, no i wouldn´t but...this is the most beautiful shot in the game!

  • hey dad, there goes the iceman, and DANG! his fingerolls so sweet...

  • George Gervin, David Robinson, Tim Duncan....because of them im proud to be from San Antonio and a Spurs fan for life!

  • Just goes to show much much the game is played above the rim today, maybe to its detriment, maybe not. No disrespect: Ice threw it down, as seen in this clip, but his intuition for the angle and timing before the leap to this day remain unparalleled. Moreso than Durant, Derrick Rose has notes of Ice, especially with the body control and using the rim to protect his shots. Imagine if Lebron or Melo worked on their touch to this extent, we'd be witnessing two of the top 10 talents ever.

  • karvitz is a poser

  • Every kid in the late 70s had two poster. One of Dr J and the other was George Gervin. You know the one with him gripping two basketball over the huge ice cube!! They don't have no orginality these days!!

  • My trainer just told me about the ICEMAN and his finger roll !!

    WOW !

  • man his finger roll so smooth i slipped and fell after seeing it

  • I saw him play in 1977 in San Antonio I was a Airman at Lackland AFB

  • I miss the iceman. I am so spoiled from watching b-ball in the 70s and 80s.

  • reminds me of kevin durant

  • That was a nice way to end it.

"The games still alive...you know. I can still play. They just won't pay me." xD

  • i didnt even know "ice man" till this vid i just heard of him.... thx for showing me a basketball legand =)

  • Great mix. Great job.

  • :30 Today players called that move the Euro step. When its actually a basic basketball move.

  • I love how Kareem looked at 1:33. He was like "man, I can't believe this dude just finger rolled in my face".

  • that jumper was cotton candy!Didn't rattle in much.Wet!

  • 3:35 is ridiculous.

  • To score 33 in a game is a great, great game. To get 33 in a half is spectacular. To drop 33 in a quarter, that's unbelievable.

  • im 20 years old and im a fan of gervin, he was an amazing player and was a great scorer, and had the best finger roll ever

  • in todays game when the leading scorer in the NBA swing his arms and go to the line the ice man could average 35 with no problem

  • This might be the most perfect song for this. George Gervin is fucking amazing. I can't even express in words how good he is. My friend, who thinks he's a bigger basketball fan then me, asked me who Gervin was. I was just like. Go look him up. Everyone cares about the new era of basketball, but I and alot of other people don't. Dennis Rodman, George Gervin, and Larry Bird are all my favorites.

  • I grew up on #44! The finger roll, but don't forget that sweet fadeaway. Dude was cool as ice.....He scored 70+ in one game back in the day.

  • dunking on darryl dawkins @ 4:20!!

  • when my kid wants to compete on NFL im gonna show him

    dennis rodman!!

  • I love you George, you were my idol growing up in san Antonio as a little boy.You are a the coolest dude in the planet. Thanks for all the memories,God bless.

  • @spursfan4life1962 my idol as well! i LOVED me some iceman! every kid i knew loved Dr J & the 76ers - not me. no one could defend him. and the poster of him sitting on the blocks of ice is still at my mothers house hanging on the closet wall!

  • This was real basketball this is when player's relied on pure basketball abilities. now and days the players just depend on athleticism.

  • Great stuff George is a class act, swiftly dissapearing in the NBA today

  • Loved this era, B.C.B. (before cry babies), the refs would let them play! nowadays every other play they call a foul. and players just complaint way too much.

  • I was a teenager when ice was playing with the spurs. We all wanted to immitate him at our games, i loved the red white and blue ball. you could see the way of the spin. i miss that ball. gervin is and always will be my favorite player. our foundation.

  • If he only had a little bit more help, he could have won it all. He came close but lost in the western conference finals. My Spurs almost had it that year. Good job on video!

  • when my kid wants to play ball im gonna show him

    geoge gervin

    scottie pippen

    pete maravich

    ocar robertson

    and elgin baylor

  • @clayj4727 if he assesses all of their qualities..... can you say greatest player of all time

  • he doesnt need all of their qualities because there is some bad in all of them

but a little of all of them would be nice

  • @clayj4727 scottie pippen, you mean michael lol

  • @clayj4727 Dont forget Tiny Nate Archibald and Spud Webb..in case he is short...hell by that time Nate Robinson will be a good addition to that list..

  • @graysonforever i can show him issah thomas

  • @clayj4727 GOOD MAN!!!

  • @clayj4727 Right on

  • @clayj4727 When i saw scottie pippen i already knew your kid would be one cool baller.

  • @clayj4727 also shawn kemp, charles barkley, magic johnson, michael jordan, julius erving, patrick ewing, and wilt chamberlain

  • 1:30. No wonder Tracy McGrady has been compared to him. Pure T-Mac.

  • Comment removed

  • one of my favorite players ever

  • i bet dwight howard would get pissed guarding him.hahaha

  • da iceman gervin reminds of kevin durant

  • @jtcc1989 me too.haha.except the oh so coool finger roll

  • The 60's and 70's were the greatest era in basketball. Love watching these vids

  • There will another Iceman coming soon. A different kind of Iceman. A much Tougher Iceman with different Qualities so don't even think about comparing the two . His jumper will be much more Superior than George Gervin . He'll be alot shorter/5'8' & tremendously faster than George Gervin . And may even jump just as high if not, higher!. His drive through the paint will be ridiculous !. Rebounds will be ridiculous as well as handles!. This will be a much more different kind of Iceman, TRUST ME.

  • Gervin is the epitome of coolness. He'll beat you one on one using nothing but finger rolls, then he'll take your mom out to a nice sushi dinner.

  • howdo youdo that finger roll mr. gervin?!

  • Ice Ice baby!

  • "One thing I know how to do.......is finga roll"!!

    Ice Man

  • great vid, dude!

  • Appreciate the comment.

  • Classic clean basketball... nice vid...

  • so physical with his drive

  • ICE!! I'm old enough to remember him. He's the reason I am a lifelong Spurs fan. Love his last line. "I can still play. They just wont pay me." lol

  • As smooth as ICE! 44!!!

  • LOVE the finger roll...it is ICE...and the use of the glass. Very nice

  • Does that finger roll he does at 1:35 have a name?

  • what name of song??

  • The song is "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz.

  • My favorite scorer ever...He was the prototype for 70's basketball, tall, skinny and had the TWA. Effortless. That move at 3:40 is ridiculous.

  • great mix man

  • Appreciate the feedback.

  • great

  • sweet video

  • you have the best mixes!

  • Appreciate the comment. Im glad your enjoying these videos.

  • Nice video Saibecc1 and he also help put Nike on da map !

  • " Smooth As Silk, Nice As Ice "

  • He even had ICE written on the back of his warmups. How cool is that?

  • cool as ice.
