  • You live in the world's coolest house.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks so much for channeling the Fab Four!

  • Good set up

  • wow, would I like to jam with you

  • Hi ! Did you change the hofner's pickguard ?

    thanks

  • mj for President. Don't stop my friend, I'm 58, an original Ed Sullivan show Beatle guy and guitar player for 45 years because of that and all I can say is Thank You for diggin' the Fabs and keeping the flame alive. Never mind that you are giving lessons we old guys could only dream about in the 60's. All we had was 'fake' books, no video, no way to SEE. You keep on bub, we need you.

  • 最後暗転したあとに女装した主がフラダンスを踊って登場していれば完璧だった(^◇^)

  • @cyb03433 Actual Google Translate interpretation: Been perfect if the Lord appeared shemale hula dancing after the last blackout.

  • hey :D you're mouthing the lyrics to the song while playing the drums ^.^

do you sing too? because then you would literally be a one man band :D

  • Great Job !

  • This is awesome! You are incredibly talented!

  • this is incredible!!!! what a gift for you to share with the world!!! thank you!

  • Hard to beat perfect.

  • Hey man your videos inspire me to get shit together and make my own covers! But How do you keep all the vids in sync? Or better yet, what software do you use?

  • Man You're Just Awesome!

  • You certainly have a right to show off.

  • @xxxRORYKxxxable2 - Okay, I agree that you are entitled to your opinion. That's fine, no problem with that. But to just to post "I've seen better" isn't really an "opinion", is it? It's like, "Okay, so what. You've seen better, and...?". It just seemed like a "negative slam" for no apparent reason, that's all. Peace.

  • @xxxRORYKxxxable I doubt seriously doubt you've SEEN better, but, the question really is, can YOU do better?? I can guarantee NOT, fuckwad. Typical "non-musician" response. Save the "spam" for a thread closer to your juvenile responses.

  • like a boss...

  • Pure genius as always, MJ!

Hey, your "musical career" must have started very early in life ...

You have any home video footage of a young MJ sharpening his craft? That might be an interesting post ;-)

I've pointed my 17 year old to your channel as an example of what "can be" with some raw talent and 10,000+ hours of practice.

Keep entertaining and motivating, my friend!

    --LJ

  • Execellent video!!! wish you would do one all you without beatles.

  • Dude, you're amazing..... great work. You make the Beatles and all their fans proud!

  • its said on wikipedia that there was acoustic guitar

  • you are very talented my friend

  • Comment removed

  • you are awesome. love your videos

  • this is great mj!

i would love to hear it without the backing track! i know its good and note for note but i wanna FEEL it haha, or something.

  • This is really neat to watch. Your channel is great! You've really done your research.

  • Wow this is awesome. lol. So cool.

  • you should pull out the fabfour...so, we can just hear you!

  • So is the keyboard on the right piano and the keyboard on the left strings?

  • Maaaan i loved your drum solo really!!!Congratulations

  • I have enjoyed your videos for quite some time and have used them to improve my own playing...thank you

  • Are you working in a Beatles Tribute Band?

  • I was waiting for the hula girls to appear at the Refrain. :)

  • Your time, your effort, and your talent are all appreciated very much. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • This guy plays this just like mj sokes lol

  • MJ, I just have to say how much I ENJOY your videos. Your obvious love of the music comes through on each one of them. The time and effort you put in, plus your real talent really shows in the end result. Count me in as a fan :)

  • @mjsokes Download 'The Redwalls - Balinese'. Another good song of them is 'Thank you', wich can be found on ze youtube. And i hope to hear your recordings without the original track on the background.

  • Paul McCartney did not really play of Hofner bass on the original studio recording of "Hello Goodbye" because he actually instead played a Rickenbacker bass which is extremely clear as Paul is playing the Rickenbacker bass in the promotional video for the song (That's the one with them wearing their Sgt. Pepper uniforms).

  • if only he could sing... :):):)

  • 1:18 My favorite part.

  • Dude, if a record producer hasn't found you, they seriously need to get laser eye surgery...

  • wow!! so fantastic!!

  • what was that tiny vox amp i saw sitting on a shelf behind the drums in the old day tripper video? looked barely smaller than a computer monitor

  • also a note on songs post-rubber soul paul had a rickenbacker bass and that was he would use that bass more than the hofner(just a note)...

  • @metaknigthmaster do I look like I'm made out of money? ; )

  • @mjsokes LOL, MJ! Maybe someday, eh? ;)

  • @mjsokes I was referring to you're response to metaknightmaster "Do I look like I'm made out of money?" We wish, huh? ;) Until then, keep on rockin', brother!

  • @mjsokes

no I guess not, but a man with all your talents and a decent to above average law school education, money won't be far behind! I too just wanted to tell you know how much your efforts are appreciated. When I was in middle-school I wanted to take violin in the orchestra, because the girl that I was after took flute, but my father forced me to take trumpet, I'm sure he thought I might turn gay or some BS reason like that. I never forgave him for that, among many other things. uRgR8.

  • @mjsokes judging by the number instruments you have it looks you are made of money.

  • @mjsokes yah jk ;)

  • @mjsokes By the looks of the instruments you own, yes ; )

  • @mjsokes kinda cuz u got a piano a hofner a drum johns rickenbacker and the ephipone

  • @mjsokes kind of

  • @metaknigthmaster Actually Paul used each one about 50% of the time. Magical Mystery Tour Etc., featured the Rick, Let it be and Hey Jude the Hof, etc.

  • @metaknigthmaster Actually used each one about 1/2 the time. Magical Mystery Tour featured the Rick, Let it be, and Hey Jude, the Hof. etc.

  • @metaknigthmaster Actually Paul used each one about 1/2 the time. Magical Mystery Tour featured the Rick, Let it be, and Hey Jude, the Hof. etc.

  • @metaknigthmaster what about during the get back sessions huh? Paul clearly used the Hofner then

  • @metaknigthmaster Kind of a "Duh" statement for any Beatles fan/musician, don't you think. BTW, how do YOU know what bass Paul used on ANY particular "post-Rubber Soul" recording?

  • @Revolution1117 reading books internet watching their videos listening to their music...

  • @metaknigthmaster Conceded....Only Paul and George Martin know for sure what he used and when. Sorry about the "flame"; I was in a "piss-poor" mood yesterday. Shouldn't have taken it out on you. Peace, bro.

  • hey you finally got the hofner beatles bass

  • After a really strange day, I found this video quite by accident. Amazing. What possesses you to take the time and effort to make these things? There are a lot of people in this world, and everyone has their own opinion. I wish most would keep them to themselves, particularly when there are probably less than a handful that can do what you have done. But I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the time, the effort, and the possession. Many thanks!

  • @brendamaddox1960 let me put it this way: i love music because it makes me feel better. i break down the songs to understand why. i make videos because i like showing off. ;)

  • @mjsokes You've virtually established yourself as an "authority" on how to play Beatles songs here on YouTube (even if in my own mind). Your vids inspire me to get back to playing. Interestingly, our musical worlds are rather similar. Like you, I'm not "made out of money"... but have a room full of musical toys - all of which I play. I also enjoy breaking down songs into components and then trying to reassemble them. I imagine you play by ear? Or do you have musical training?

  • @mjsokes A "musician's" response , if I ever heard one! Good stuff, MJ.

  • Man, when you retire you could move to a desert island by yourself and never be bored for a minute!

  • was your room an attic

  • Great talent man!

  • Great job. I've enjoyed all of your videos, and it just so happened that my girlfriend like Hello, Goodbye so I showed her this latest video.

Now let's see if you can do Elanor Rigby and play each string part. Haha!

  • Beautiful. You're going to heaven MJ :-)

  • @beeflin magnifcent news. certainly beats the alternative.

  • I used to see you as more of a "John" guy, but thus far your the ONLY person who can play the drum part to this song right! incredible

  • super awesome!

  • Glad you're back - the new videos are great! By the way - I like watching you recreate Ringo's part to this song - man, he was doing some creative stuff, just perfect for this song.

  • The last parts needs moar silly dances

  • As a drummer of Beatle music, I have always had a hard time with this song. GREAT JOB. Thanks!!!!

  • Ah, I bet the neighbors love you!

  • What, no rhthym guitar part? Awesome vid.

  • @sendoh873 Spelled rhythm wrong.

  • Can you upload it without the backing track (song)? Please

  • u are great in every intrument that u play and get in my opinion almost perfection on the wonderful beatles music... no homo shit btw

  • Fantastic, wonderful. Now I KNOW you can go back and add George's lead part to your "I Want to Hold Your Hand" compilation.

  • Wow! Wow! Wow!

  • Doesn't John play acoustic in this song?

  • @jin256 In the video.

  • @gdholmfirth Where huh?

  • @jin256 if you watch John Lennon play it in the Magical Mystery Tour, you'll see he's holding something that looks like a Martin D28.

  • @jin256 That's for the promo video... actually there are two guitars only in the end.

  • @AdrianRojasF And none acoustic? What the fuck man hahaha oh well

  • @jin256 You can seeit in the video but you can't hear it anywhere!

  • @AdrianRojasF Mjsoke's guitar is an Ovation acoustic, it's not in the video

  • @jin256 I mean the Hello Goodbye original videos... it is not in this video because, as I said before, they used it in the video but its not heard in the song. Si no sabe, no opine, no joda.

  • yei...

  • Just two critics: In most of all the post-1966 songs Ringo muffs his toms and sometimes the snare (there are exeptions like Something). I use towels... unfortunately they slip away.

And... you may use the tracks from Rock Band... In my channel I have a version of Hello Goodbye with just drums and violas, and you can easily make a vocals-viola version to play... and listen to the isollated instruments to have a more precise sound (I don't know how you can do it much better but ... anyway)

    Shalom

  • @AdrianRojasF nit picker

  • @mjsokes Not that intention ¬¬ If I could speak english better it would be easier..

  • @AdrianRojasF i tape the towels on my toms with scotch tape lol it doesnt do any harm :)

  • @SethDaActor Thanks for the tip... but anyway its my little's brother drum and its like beating a can

  • @mzainm786 It's not sad... he made the way here anyway, the 9/9/9 Project and the Remasters and TB:RB were not to keep the Beatles alive, they won't die, they'll sell forever, was to get to the young audiences (sorry for my english)

  • now lets see a full band of Help!

  • As usual, your attention to detail is AMAZING!! Great performances and great video. It even looks like you had fun making the video. By the way, the video of you playing the drums, from the side view, with the longer hair, you look like John Lennon circa 1964!

  • freaking awesome!

  • This is AMAZING!!!

  • Brilliant Beatles cover! You're a musical genius.

  • Damn I just looked at it in 1080p HD - WOWWWW

  • Superb!!!!!!!!! Thank for the top shot of the piano. I've been trying to learn this part and this really helps.

  • now please simulate the Beatles taking their mind altering drugs and sleeping with Jimi Hendrix and you have it all down pat

  • dude, THIS IS FUCKING COOL.

  • Dammit YouTube, stop freezing this masterpiece! Fantastic job mjsokes!

  • Just brilliant! I am at a loss for your mouthing (sometime?) and not singing. Get the pipe ready Danny Boy.

  • should i invest in a epiphone ej160-e?

  • 3:15 :D I sang along if you dont mind.... I play violin and never crossed my mind to do this song.

  • @1967beatlesfan It's a pair of violas xd

  • great man, just fricking great!

  • FANTASTIC. Crystal clear video. Excellent PIP. Great work. In watching you play (all the videos you've made) I'm struck by how simple each part really is....but the genius of the Beatles was to come up with these simple parts and create beautiful timeless music. Thank you and keep the videos coming!

  • mj thats great but can you do a song thats from the early time like from the help album, ?? my fave is im down can u do it?

  • Wow great job. Ur covers are really spot on and true to the Beatles sound. Thanks for posting this cover on Youtube.

  • Great work! All sounds spot on! May i ask what strings you use on your casino? I use 12's pyramid gold flatwounds on mine but i think they may be a little to heavy?

  • Didnt Paul use his Rickenbacker on this song?

  • @Pepsthecat yes, your point?

  • @Pepsthecat Yeah, Rickenbacker 4001 c64s... discontinued >.<

  • ALL IS FANTASTIC!! CONGRATULATIONS!! =) I INVITE YOU TO MYCHANNEL!

    *

    ((ºJª))

    ...- eDDER

  • Excellent playing for all of the instruments! It sounds just like on the album! Are you set to be doing more songs in a similar fashion w/ playing all bits?

  • I am going to break in to your house and steal all of your hardware.

  • @mjsokes Sweet... I'm sending out those positive thoughts in hopes that your surprise project (thing...? band...? performance or tour with Paul McCartney...??) comes together for everybody to see. Never got to watch you explain out Jenny Wren in it's entirety. Would love to one day, if you get the chance. By the way, you kicked some ass on Ringo's drum parts. I think you scored a 100%.

  • Great! I envy you! :)

  • This is a really interesting idea!

So you're trying to put up a website with this stuff?

    What about copyright?

Hope you can put up versions with only 1 instrument at a time, with no backing track. just that instrument.

keep up the good work man. love it : )

    M.

  • heyyyy so this is kinda awesome. tons of great stage presence too.

(PS if you ever need violin assistance in the future, hit me up. i can provide you with many references as to my experience if need be)

  • Holy balls that was awesome man keep up the awesome work

  • What kind of bass strings do you use?

  • @JohnLennon644 He uses flats

  • What, no violin part? j/k Absolutely fab!

  • @anybody51 YOU ASS i knew someone would say that

  • @mjsokes - Sorry. Had to say that. lol Seriously, one musician to another - my deepest respect.

  • @mjsokes Then you should have done the violin part!

  • @anybody51 Viola, no violin

  • Duuude... You're such a bauce.

  • oh now youre just showing off, great job!

  • Youre so talented, another great sound mix of the instruments too <3

  • Amazingly AWESOME! Wow...

  • Nice!

  • without Rock Band i wouldn't have been watching this and would not like the beatles

  • @The8347135 yes but without real instruments you never would've had rock band, or the beatles, or music.

  • @mjsokes its not about real instruments. It's a big difference between an actual guitar and a plastic guitar. i love beatles: rock band because it's a fun experience with friends with some awesome music where you don't have to learn an actual instrument from scratch

  • @mjsokes Great job on the video, first off! You've practiced a lot and your technique is spot on. I'm an old schooler, myself, much like yourself. We're around the same age. I do find a valid point to what the kid is saying though. Although, you are right to say that "without real instruments", there'd be no plastic toys to play video games with. Knocking Rockband outright, sounds a bit pretentious though. There's this hip-pretentiousness that seems to be going around and I hope it dies soon.

  • @viciousbloodbath alright alright i changed the thing, i denounce and reject myself

  • @mjsokes how many guitars do you have may i ask?

  • @synchrobakugan 3 guitars + 1 bass + 1 keyboard + 1 drumset = 2 awesome parents (and a lot of yardwork).

  • @mjsokes awsome man could you plaese do a video on how to play guitar like george because i'm in this beatles cover band and i'm the george harrison (go figuer) i've got the hair i've got the songs but i don't have the techniques

  • @The8347135 OMG SOO DID I!!

  • @The8347135 ...Why? RockBand isnt a reason to like bands... Im glad you like the Beatles but, geeze.

  • I like how his snare sounds identical to ring's high, tight, dry snare.

  • @omglolwtfmudkips

by ring I ment ringo D:

  • Rock Band is so for wimps
